Not talking is totally different from living with the pressure of being gay. Not that I know, but I mean, those two just don't equate.

I'm going to not eat pork to sympathize with the plight of those suffering from eminent domain.

But really if you actually organized a bunch of people to not eat pork and let everyone know you were doing it to protest eminent domain, then I really don't see why it wouldn't work. It's just a form of protest. And people can say protests don't do anything, but in reality if no one ever complained about anything, then nothing would ever change. Though it'd probably help if you did something more extreme than just not eat pork, like totally fasting. I mean being silent is obviously extreme and noticable, it'd be a lot stupider if they just avoided using adverbs or something.
