Dan DiDio: A whole lot of fighting going on. This is a DC fanboy dream book, hopefully. We’ve examined all the known worlds of the multiverse, and we’re picking one champion from each of the worlds to come and compete to be part of Monarch’s army. Something that we’re going to be finding out is that all of the worlds of the multiverse are very familiar places to long-time DC readers. These are not only multiverse worlds that existed from before the past Crisis, but also we’re seeing some of the worlds that are reflective of the more popular Elseworlds books.

DD: What we want to do is that in several of the cases, we’re going to post the competitions in September at dccomics.com. Once we have them all posted online, we’re going to have the fans vote on some of them. The winners, as voted by the fans, will then go on to be in the battle which comes later in Countdown.

Proving that at least ONE company is willing to pander to the hardcore fans.
