Wake me when it becomes the threat the media made it out to be (oh, no SPANISH FLU, WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! Oh, wait a minute...it's nothing?).

Nice to have a vaccine, but it means nothing when the next virus-of-the-season comes along (I'm calling spider cold...as an ode to the great Ice Spiders).

Agreed. This isn't the early 1900s when the Spanish Flu killed millions. Sanitation is better. The understanding of influenza is better. Medicine is better. Outside the third world, avian flu will be a nuisance.

Actually predictions from experts tell a different story in regards to it being more than just a nuisance. However I truly do not care because I am healthy and not in an age group that is actually threatened by this, if I were in my late 60s or above or younger than sixteen then I might actually worry. I do think there is a high possibility of there being a major pandemic in the next decade, but as I live in the West in a first world country I am not very afraid.
