I'd say they are. As far as debates on forums go, I find that the higher the restrictions on debate go, the higher the overall suck of the forums. The places that can hold a good debate without the whole thing collapsing into a muck of immaturity and namecalling are the places I like to stick around, even if it is a semi-lurking sticking around. And they're good fun to read.
 
All opinions on subjects must be heard. There are infinite ways of looking at something, and one that is truly wise will consider all of them. In the end, however, there are some opinions that will not change no matter how you might try to reason with them. Then you must agree to disagree, or an enormous pointless argument erupts; arguments that have fueled all of the wars that have ever existed. Debating is a sign of respect. It sounds contradictory, but it makes sense to me.
 
Then you all can fucking post some new debates :-D
