Oh, dear Deoxys. So interesting.

In RSE, you couldn't change Deoxys's form, because it was determined by whatever version Deoxys was currently in (Normal in Ruby/Sapphire, Speed in Emerald, Attack in FireRed and Defense in LeafGreen).

Obviously, they'll have to include the meteorites(or something) that allow Deoxys to change form. After all, Deoxys is a gen III pokemon that existed in the original Ruby and Sapphire. It's not like glaceon and leafeon who (along with the mossy rock and icy rock) didn't even exist in Gen II and are therefore unobtainable in HGSS. Heck, speaking of HGSS, they even managed to shove the meteorites in there, so there's absolutely no raisin to leave them out of ORAS.

Now that I've removed all doubt from your mind, where do you think they'll put the meteorites? The recent trend seems to involve them sitting on a museum shelf, a la the Nacrene and Ambrette Museums, but in DPPt and HGSS, they were outside in what seemed to be craters.

Since Hoenn has both good candidates for an outside spot (meteor falls [which seems to no longer be a cave on the new Hoenn map {please correct me if I'm wrong}] or even that seemingly purposeless white rock outside the space center), and an inside spot (take your pick of museums and laboratories, probably the space center).

Or, maybe, the meteorites will be scattered in multiple places across the Hoenn region, and you'll have to pay a visit to whichever one corresponds to the form you wish Deoxys to become.

Perhaps the Meteorite will become a Key item akin to the Gracedia, which allows Shaymin to change form on cue, similar to how Deoxys changes on cue when exposed to the meteorite(s). If this is the case, maybe the meteorite is given to us by Steven Stone, who is shown to have an interest in odd and rare rocks.

I've presented some interesting ideas, and I think there's actually quite a few posibilities!
You never know, maybe Gamefreak will pull a fast one on us and replace the meteorites with something else entirely!

How/Where do you think deoxys will change form in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire?

(Note: This thread is specifically for discussion and speculation of deoxys and it's unique method(s) of form change. There's another thread about form changes in general, but I find that Deoxys alone could spark a great conversation and a plethora of interesting ideas, and I want to have a thread solely focused on it, without throwing in any other 'forms', especially since there's basically a 100% chance that Deoxys will be able to change form in ORAS, unlike quite a few other pokemon with different forms up for discussion in the other thread)

Maybe if Deoxys is catchable in game you can change it's forms on the moon by using the rocket in the space center.

They added ways for changing its form in HGSS so I don't see why they can't do it for ORAS.

Doesn't Hoenn only have one museum, which is focused on water/sea-related things and not fossils? It would seem a bit odd to just stick some meteorites in there in my opinion. Of course Rustboro Gym in ORAS looks pretty museum-like now, so it's possible the changing meteorite(s) could be found there. I personally think it would make the most sense to place them somewhere on Route 114, considering the Fossil Maniac is found there and the route connects to Meteor Falls in the south--maybe somewhere right outside that entrance?

I'm pretty sure Meteor Falls is still a cave. You can see a dark spot which is probably an entrance. It does appear hoewver they've somewhat altered the outside area. It also looks like they've altered Route 115 quite a bit, so that might be why Meteor Falls looks odd. Nonetheless, I think it would be a plausible area to put the meteorites (or alternatively Route 114)

If we get in-game event, I think it would even be possible we can obtain Deoxys in the same area (cause I'm not sure if/why they would add Birth Island, as the Sevii Islands aren't even part of this generation. Not that it isn't possible)

I think having the Meteorite as a Key Item would be easier than travelling to Mt. Chimney or Meteor Falls to change Deoxys forms.

I like the idea of keeping the Meteorite in a location, rather than as a key item.

Meteor Falls & Mossdeep Space Center are the most likely candidates imo.

Remember that the Meteorite is already a key item in RSE with some plot-related significance that you permanently give to Prof. Cozmo. As convenient as it would be, and although they could make some slight changes to make this possible, I doubt they'll make the Deoxys meteorite(s) a key item as a result.

The Mt. Chimney Meteorite and the Meteorite to transform Deoxys aren't the same thing - they could even be from completely different planets.

I think Mossdeep City would be the ideal location for the transformation meteorites - whether they be the big white one in the city, or found in the Space Centre.

I was more trying to say that there's already a key item called the Meteorite in the games, so at the very least Deoxys's meteorite(s) is gonna have to get a different name if they're going to make it a key item. Which is possible of course, but also... why?

Probably some meteorites on the ground like gen 4 and 5 did iirc. They could just use the scattered stones around the Space Center and call them meteorites.

Personally, I think putting them at Meteor Falls or the Space Center would make a lot of sense. For that matter, perhaps they could go in the Rustboro Gym, the front of which seems to have been converted into a sort of museum in the new games. Whatever they do, it doesn't matter that much to me, since I don't really intend to use Deoxys in my game, and I'm sure they won't make its form unchangeable again.

I actually hope we can enter space in these games using the rocket.

Don't we all? Haha, and it would actually be pretty cool to have an in-game Deoxys or Jirachi or etc. event that requires you to use the rocket to go to space to battle and capture the legendary.

Would be perfect. They could have wild pokemon in space too like the Clefairy line or Elgyium line.

The deoxys item is either going to appear in:

Meteor Falls: Most likely.

Space Station: Kind of likely

Desert Underpass: Least likely

They'll probably just stick some meteorites in somewhere, but having it as a key item would be cool

Anyone else have this feeling that Deoyxs might receive a Mega Evolution or a new form similar to the Weather Trio?

It would be kind of weird considering the fact that it already has multiple forms. I wouldn't rule it out because Gamefreak makes some pretty odd decisions but it seems kind of like overkill IMO.
