Off the sidewalk on the outskirts of Mandola Heights is a path to the soccer field, created over the span of some twenty-odd years by a Kicker, a Lunarian, and a globi-human star crossed. There’s two battered soccer nets on opposing sides, but there’s also spots scratched out in the grass for bases, for an imaginary badminton and volleyball net, for a hall of fame of rocks that were signed in marker and sit by the trees on the sidelines. Long forgotten by the Heights, the field was reclaimed by its scrappiest youth.
