Dethroning the Lich King

I quit playing WoW almost two years ago. I never touched WotLK, except for the 10 day free-trial thing. But even then I can't seem to help myself from looking through WarcraftMovies to see whats been up in terms of PVE. I used to play Warcraft 3 almost religiously, and Arthas was always one of my favorite characters. So when I saw a video titled "Defeat of the Lich King" (or something along those lines), I eagerly clicked the play button and was expecting to get some crazy-super-awesome-amazing ending to Arthas. And I was disappointed. IMO the trailer Blizzard had put up for the 3.3 patch was a hell of a lot better then the cut scene for the death of one of Warcraft's most prominent characters.

Thinking that maybe the battle would have made up for the lack of super-awesome-ending cut scene, I hurried off and found a 10 man world first sweep of Arthas. Maybe this would have seemed more exciting if I had actually been playing in the party, but I was disappointed in the mechanics of the boss battle as well. Honestly Illidan was probably harder to beat then Arthas, and Arthas wtfpwned Illidan. DX

So for any of you World of Warcraft/Warcraft 3 fans out there that have seen this, are you as disappointed as I am? =/
 
Well, at least you didn't get banned for beating him... like the first guild to beat him did.

I stopped playing WoW right when BC came out. Terrible expansion, vanilla Wow was so much better.
 
I enjoyed Vanilla as well, though I played in BC a lot. I liked arenas a lot then. Hardly played wotlk...considering cataclysm at the moment.

lol The first guild to beat him was banned? Was that "Blood Legion" on Illidan? rofl. Blizzard is hilarious with their banhammer. And yeah, vanilla WoW was a lot better too, IMO. I didn't think BC was horrid though, haha. It had its ups and downs, but I could tell that it was "dumbed down" compared to vanilla.

Well, they weren't banned. Just suspended for three days for exploiting.
 
What bothers me most is the guild that was banned for Arthas was banned because they found a error Blizzard didn't.

Blizzard: If you catch our bugs, we'll ban you!

Haha, yeah. You'd think with all the money they're making off of their subscribers, they'd have some top notch programmers and bug checkers. X)
