Diamond or Platinum?

As much as I dislike most of the Generation IV Pokemon, I've decided that after I save up a bit more, I'll purchase one of the new games as well as a DS Lite. Currently I own a GB Micro with Emerald, and I'm pretty content with it, however I kind of want to jump into the modern world.

So now the question posed to me by myself: Do I want Diamond or do I want Platinum? I do like that all the legendaries are present in Platinum (Darkrai in particular) but I kind of like the selection in Diamond. Any suggestions out there?
 
Platinum has more content, like the Battle Frontier. You can always get the Pokémon missing from Platinum from the GTS. Really, I recommend Platinum, there's more to do.

Thank you very much! I was leaning towards Platinum, but I figured I'd get someone other than my inside voice's input.
 
unless you have my pokémon ranch I would go for Platinum because it'll give you more competative battle options
 
Yeah, Platinum has more content and more to do at the end. You get most of Diamond's pokemon too, so you should really go for Platinum.
 
Platinu, Platinum, PLATINUM. The third version is always the best, well, in my opinion at least.
 
There are exactly two reasons not to get Platinum. If you want to use My Pokémon Ranch, or if you really like some of the Pokémon not available in Platinum. Even then, it would still probably not be worth it. Platinum is the way to go in almost any situation.
 
I loved Diamond so much when it came out, in fact I thought Pokemon couldn't get any better!!! But when Platinum came I fell in love with it, and pretty soon the same thing will happend with me and HeartGold.
 
Why would you consider the inferior game? Platinum is better than Diamond, no matter who you ask.

They'll grow on you, trust me. I hated Gen III in the beginning, but I use them as much as the rest now.

Anyway, get Pt. I replaced Diamond with it as soon as I got it, then proceeded to hack Diamond as much as I could because I could.
 
Platinum, definitely. It has way more to offer than Diamond. I have both Pearl and Platinum, and if I had known how much better Platinum would be, I would have saved my money and not bought Pearl at all.

Epic fail, sir. You don't really have to even try to level them up in any of the games-- 90% of the time if you raise your team evenly, you'll have no trouble. In Pt I had only minor trouble with Cyrus in the Distortion World. That's it. Stop being a noob and get to real training.

Alright, my mind has definitely been made up. I'll just get my favs from the other version from my friends.

Just need to continue saving up the money...
