28/4/15 note: I do believe that I'll come back to this later for a re-write. However, I won't be writing this more for a while, because I want to go on to write something else. Why? As I said before, this was a bit of an experiment. Now that I have more experience, I want to start again, although I'll build on this story.
I hate dropping projects, so this decision wasn't taken lightly.
24/4/15 note: I shall admit that my writing style or focus might change from time to time. This is still a bit of an experiment. If I do a sequel to this (and I fully intend to! This is fun!), I'll get something more methodical. Also, I'll probably do a LOT more preparation, because a lot of Doireann's character was on the fly. As the chapters went on, I've been trying to fill her out more, but this may have caused things to seem...disorganized? Sorry. :sweatlol:

Hello! This seems like a decent place to post this, but first I think I'll need some explanation. This is a diary of a character of mine in a game called Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (DCSS for short), a rogue-like. On their wiki, they have a section called Diary of a Crawler.
What that means is that I'm taking a playthrough of mine and turning it into a story. Others have done this too (in case you haven't clicked the link above), but many of the diaries I've read tend to be straightforward and don't seem to try to make a real story out of what they're writing. (Rather, they just chronicle their playthrough; interesting to other DCSS players, but not so much to everyone else.)
There are a couple things to note here: Massive spoilers lie ahead! If you're interested in playing DCSS without spoilers, you should do so before you read on! Also, I won't promise that I'll follow exactly with my playthrough. The order of certain events will be change, and some events may be dropped alltogether. Major changes will be noted, but beyond that...
Here's the link to the original diary.
I will be posting this here because I'm hoping for responses and/or opinions. The Bulbagarden Forums seems like a better place for feedback than the DCSS wiki. I will be posting sections/levels here as well as on the link above. Hope you enjoy!
Oh, also, one last thing: I will slightly edit things from their original form to try to keep it for the 'TEEN' tag. If you can read Lord of the Rings or Jack London's White Fang, this should be alright...I hope. But let me know if I'm wrong about that!

I took this magic book off Robin. It's quite strange, because I can write in it with my mind! Since I feel too full to continue on, I think I'll pass the time by recording my journey in this book.
Hmm...I'll begin from when I woke up...
---
I gasped and gritted my teeth from a horrible pain in my head. I found myself in a dimly lit room. Minutes passed before the pain began to subside, and I began to wonder why my bed was so hard. When I finally sat up, I felt very strange and not entirely myself. I looked down to see a pair of large paws, each with a fine set of claws. Thinking that I was being sat on by some large cat, I held perfectly still, hoping that it wouldn't notice me.
Minutes passed, and the cat hadn't moved a muscle. Hoping that it was asleep, and knowing that I couldn't take it for another minute, I dashed away as fast as I could and ducked behind a wall. Looking back, I couldn't see anything chasing me. I felt quite satisfied with myself, but something still felt wrong...and why had I run all that way on all fours? I looked at myself and finally realized...
...that I was a cat!
