I'm not sure if this is ok to post here or not, but did anyone read the anime interview that WPM apparently did?

I'm not sure how reliable it is, but he asked some important questions regarding Ho-oh, Ash's father, and the like, and the responses were basically what we expected and some of it informative.

I won't direct link to it, but did anyone here read it? I figure its important to discuss here too. If this isn't allowed to be discussed here, I'm sorry and you could close this. :/

Let the Misty lovers weep openly. :p And obviously the start of Movie 12 is Arceus.

Uugh, dreading to see what the reactions of the SOVA people might be on a certain question... Did he really have to ask that question? SOVA folks keep it in your forums - which I never visit - so I won't have to read it.

Yes, that new Pokemon is no doubt Arceus especially due to the fact that he said it'll be the main character of the 12th movie and that it hasn't actually been officially released to the public.

I will only say that most of the answers make perfect sense if all of this is real. As for the father thing, part of that was somewhat interesting, but I really question what the purpose of knowing who Ash's father is would do.
The VA thing as WPM put it may be correct. I think the same people have voiced the anime for all these years, so they would not know of this concept. The Japanese guy's reaction is natural, but I don't think it's anything to worry about.

*searched PokeBeach and read the entire post* Interesting! i wonder what the longer interview will be like...i can't wait to read that!

nyah, couldn't the new Pokemon in the 12th movie be a 5th gen. Pokemon, too? i mean, yeah, Arceus is the most obvious, but then again, couldn't the writers surprise us? I really did like that bit about Ash's Father and Ho-Oh...it's always nice to learn about the secrets behind a story.

...i wonder if someday, someone would be able to interview one or some of the show's writers...

He forgot to ask him about the GS ball. I would have liked to know if the writers ever have any intention of opening it. Ah well.

You can just tell the "WPM is lying" is statement is coming soon.

I thought the interview was interesting, its good to know Pokemon doesn't want to offend anyone.

Someone needs to post that question and answer about Misty over to the Misty fanclub. I mainly want to read Mr. Mchairy Bug's reaction.
I posted in the Pokecommunity Misty club along with the source.

I am now a bit interested in the potential of Ash's father because it sounds like there is a chance in the future they may want to reveal him

There is almost nothing notable in this interview, certain things are being blown out of proportion just to make a scene.

It's really been all but confirmed for years that Misty would never again become a regular feature on the show. Nobody had come out and said it before this, but seeing May leave in much the same fashion was all but a confirmation in itself that the three "regulars" would always be Ash, Brock and the "new girl" from the newest generation of games. The mention of Pokémon Contests in this context is the only real thing we learned on Misty.

The thing about Ash's father and grandfather is really the only newsworthy thing here, as we didn't just learn of his father but his grandfather too, which adds a new dimension in a way to the speculation. The fact they developed even this much says to me that it WILL eventually be used.

Ho-oh is a plot device. Big surprise.

Porygon and Jynx info was old, even WPM said so.

So my suspicion that Movie 12 had already been put into production was right. The phrasing used---"it's one of the new Pokémon"---implies to me that it's from the DPP generation, in other words, Arceus.

I knew certain people would blow this out of proportion. The things said in the interview on the VAs are NOT any new news. We have known for over a year, probably nearing TWO years, that the Japanese have a totally different attitude about this subject than people in the US do; it was only gone over a thousand times when Giovanni's original Japanese voice passed away. This does not have to be rehashed again, so stop trolling for a reaction.

All in all, I give WPM credit for getting the interview, but it's really barely noteworthy.

>_< Nando, aren't you being a little harsh? it's noteworthy that the interview itself happened, and that there's a bigger interview coming in the future! i wonder if they're taking question submissions over there...

We learned nothing outside of Ash's grandfather also being a famous trainer, so yes, a lot of it IS being blown out of proportion.

Very interesting bit of info about Ash's heritage. Also interesting to know that someone's Global Boycott will be in vain for Misty.

Who knows, maybe they'll be a more in-depth interview.

(Runs off to read)

Well, that was a relief. When I noted the question about Ash's dad, I was like "oh no, end of Diamondshipping?", but the only real development there was the revelation of the possibility of his grandfather being revealed, since they were saying in the fourth movie commentary how Ash's father "may appear on the show" long before this interview.

But yeah. Nothing we didn't already know, but I'm sure WPM had a great experience talking to him. Although I may eventually be forced to change my Diamondshipping canon (unless it's his grandpa on Delia's side)

WPM, you should have asked him about the GS ball.

lol.

Hmm, the thing about Ash's father goes along perfectly with this.

WPM, you've got to ask about the GS Ball if you get the chance! XD Even if it's just "The question of what's in the GS Ball and where it came from was never meant to be answered", it would be neat to have it confirmed.

I wonder if it should have been mentioned that we all already know about Arceus... That may have been pushing it. XD

I do think its interesting to have these interviews with anime directors.

I think other more general questions like, "How do you choose which Pokemon the main characters capture?" and "How do you choose which Pokemon to evolve?" would have also been good questions.

Yeah, I also wanted to ask him if he knew anything about Kadabra, but I forgot. I didn't come in with a list of prepared questions like everyone else, so I did it impromptu. I also didn't want to pound him with a lot of the "we aren't supposed to know this" questions or he might not answer any more.

His translator is supposed to call me later this week for a time to do a personal interview. Hopefully I can go.
