Did Pokémon change your life?

Yes... more speficially Shipping did, ironically.

Because I got into Advanceshipping, I joined an Advanceshipping forum and met a fellow ASer, an he likewise would read my AS fics, reviewing them at times. Eventually, we developed a liking for each other after talking back and forth in one of the threads at said forum, then developed and online relationship, and long story short, he just was over here visiting me on Holiday (he is from England and I'm in the States d:), annnnd it ended with me being proposed to, bended knee and ring and all.

Sooo yeah, I'd say Pokemon has changed my life. xD

Other than buying games and watching it, I'd say no.

There are plenty of other games and TV shows I like, and Pokemon would just be one less franchise I follow. In fact, I'd have a hell of a lot more time to do other things if it weren't for this franchise.

Well, it taught me how to use a forum and that there was actually something to do on the internet. Maybe I'd be better off without it in that sense... D:

Anyway, the show's deffinitely helped define my childhood. Its been nice. Teaches kids values and to have an imagination.

Yesss, it has.

My story is pretty similar to cascade88's. I met my boyfriend here. He's from England, I'm from the States, and we're meeting IRL next year. We also plan on getting engaged. All because we both joined a Pokemon forum--and within four days of each other, no less.

So has Pokemon changed my life? Tremendously.

In a big way? Probably not.

What it did do is get me into RPGs. It's also very possible my love of RPGs led to my analytical nature, which in turn lead to the scientific career I'm currently pursuing. I'm not saying none of that would have happened without Pokémon, because it might have. But Pokémon helped make it much more likely. At the very least I have played a lot of other very enjoyable games because of it.

You're damn right Pokémon has changed my life--when my childhood best friend moved away at age 11, Pokémon got me through the sadness. And now, in my adult life, I've met the girl I want to marry right here on this very Pokémon forum.

I owe Pokémon a lot.

Whoa. Who ever knew Pokémon could do this for people. Relationships and all that stuff.

Psychology.

This very thread has changed me, actually. In my ever-increasing thirst for knowledge, this has helped quench it.

Holy crap. I'm serious.

EDIT: LOL I DIDN'T FINISH MY SENTENCE WTF

Ehm, not really. It got me into this big-crazy-fan thing, now I know you're allowed to be interested in something that actually HAS a fanbase. And taught me about fanart and shipping and fanfics.

Other than that? Naaawt so much. But it's encouraged me to draw and write more.

Pokèmon is likely what got me into anime...
It started with that, then I discovered Digimon (which at first I thought was a Pokèmon rippoff) I checked it out and I liked it. Then I found there were plenty of shows drawn in the same way, and then someone told me it was called "anime" XD (Okay I learned the word Manga first, Anime was talked about in a magazine)

It got me into shipping also. I found out I was a Pokeshipper at age 9 :x
Then I started getting into all types of Anime.

The only thing it changed for me is I started liking more cartoons/anime when I was a kid. Other than that it hasn't changed me or my life at all.

It did. If it wasn't for Bulbagarden and SOVA, I wouldn't have met the best girl in the world who I love very much. <3333 And of course it got me a bunch of other super awesome friends too. It's funny because I took a break from Pokémon for the longest time and I came back to it and shortly after I joined here. Never thought something like Pokémon would bring me to some of the most awesome people ever. :D
