Was I the only one with this problem?

I mean, when Lance switched his Dragonite...for ANOTHER Dragonite - TWICE!

:banghead:

EDIT:

I know Lance has 3 Dragonites; however, when I was battling a Dragonite, he switched said Dragonite to another Dragonite!

Also, Karen must carry a warehouse supply of Full-Restore [In fact, I don't think I've ever seen an opponent use Full-Restore FIVE TIMES]

Not that these issues stopped me from blasting their Pokemon to Kingdom Come... [& my Pokemon were only in the High 40's, Mid 50's]

They pretty much all have a numerous amount of Full Restores, for whatever reason. That, and they are made to use them every single time any of their pokemon are at low health(low red), though it is a rare chance they might not.

I've only faced the Elite Four once and lost (but I did get up to Lance), but their AI wasn't that bad... They didn't even use that many Full Restores.

1. Each Elite 4 Member Has Numerous Full Restores.

2. Lance Does Infact Have 3 Dragonites.

The first run through, Lance's team is a bit overpopulated with Dragonite. It improves after you go back with all 16 Badges.

Make sure you use Ice and Dragon Type moves on Lance's Dragonites. And I had a problem with Karen. She was a bit tough. Than I found out Dark Pokemon are weak to Fighting Type moves.

The key to avoiding the Full Restore hell is to get their Pokemon into the yellow before the red. Rarely will anyone use an item on a Pokemon with its HP bar in the yellow unless it's dangerously close to red.

Lance's Dragonites were hell because my Lapras's Ice Beam left them with like 1HP. :/ The AI is a cheating maggot.

it's lance. All 4 of his dragonite are illegal.

I sent my team into a full on blitzkerg to pwn the elite four. My lvl 61 typholsion (The level it was at that time) took care of everyone in the Elite Four. Once I got to Lance, I had to change everything up. His Gyradoes was more of a problem for me than his 3 Dragonites. After that was gone, Aerodactyl was the next problem, so i sent out Raikou to do the job. And when it was finally the dragonites, I just used Typholsion again to tank them, but it was so annoying beating them up.

i wouldent say the AI is dumb i would say its too predictable. my tranitar ravished lance the first time we fought and i mean really ravished him .he (my tranatar) took out 4 of his. the other problem is that the E4 is like some of you guys have said they use too many full restores. (although that wasnt too much of a problem for me) i mean my Ninetales took out KOGA Real quick, My Gardovior make short work of Bruno. Luxray Murdered Will, Gyradoes and metagroos owned Karen And tranarar Ravished lance

OMG, Lapras was on my team as well! [great minds think alike!]

I used an X-Attack before I Ice-Beamed; sent him into the Orange, then Lance switched the Dragonite I was about to defeat with...ANOTHER DRAGONITE!

Annoyed, I Ice-Beamed the second Dragonite into the Orange.

Guess what Lance does?

SWITCHES TO A THIRD DRAGONITE.

So, he had 2 Dragonites, in the Orange, stashed away.

And they're all about the same level, with the same moves.

It's not like he pulled out an Electric Pokemon to fight Lapras. His repeated stupidity angered me.

LOL, I made a script:

Lance: *I know, I'll switch this almost defeated Dragonite for a Dragonite that's exactly the same as the one that got Ice-Beamed!*

Kotone: Ice Beam

Lance: *I know, I'll switch this almost defeated Dragonite for a Dragonite that's exactly the same as the two that got Ice-Beamed!*

Kotone: :banghead:

Wouldn't it have been better to use an X-special for the ice beam?

^ Logically, yes.

I think Will's AI is pretty good. When I first tried to fight him he always used me first to take down my misdreavus with his own shadow ball. When I leveled the ghosty up a bit and went to fight him again, the xatu would use confuse ray and when I tried going in with persim berry he would use psychic instead.

Bruno's set up stupidly but it's not really the AI that's the problem. His hitmontop doesn't have a single move that can damage a levitating ghost. He kept using dig which annoyed the hell out of me and wasted time.

Everyone after Koga was simple enough though, they barely got any moves in anyway. Though Lance is pretty stupid in that he uses a full restore on gyarados if he's in the red even though I get him back into the red on the same turn, luckily he doesn't keep that up.

Well this is my theory for when fighting Gyarados

Lyra: Butters use Sleep Powder

Butters: Freee!!! *sprays green powder on Gyarados*

Gyarados: Gyaarrr....zzzzzz

Lance: What the hell!?

Lyra: *giggles and pulls out a poke ball and switches Butters with Bowser* now Bowser use Rollout!

Bowser: Plloooo!!!! *charges at Gyarados and it hits*

Shame in the fourth turn it didn't hit and Gyarados woke up

I almost never use the battle items. I just bring lots of healing items instead and keep using them when needed.
I too, will have a Lapras on my team. It's my water HM slave (which isn't all that bad, considering the usability of surf and waterfall (it is the transport pokemon)), and also will Have Ice Beam (either that or perish song for the Whirlpool->Perish Song combo.)

More Dragonites is More Better.

Moargonite.

....

More.

Elite 4 Round 2 was a little bit better.

First, in the remaches, lance uses altaria as his last pokemon, then he uses PERISH SONG! Basically that = suicide. I have also seen curses when the opponents hp is below half.

^ hence why he should have had Flygon and given Altaria to Clair for diversity.

I just bring the usual healing items and don't worry about the stat-enhancing items. It was kind of funny though that the guide I was following suggest buying all of these X Attack and such.

The only Elite Four trainer that actually put up a match was Bruno as he used great moves to his advantage. Along with that he healed several of his Pokemon. As for the Champion Lance, he kept switching out his Dragonites but only was able to do so twice. He also healed pretty much anytime his level 50 Dragonite got a scratch.

I am looking forward to the Elite Four and Champion rematch though, it will be interesting to see.
