Hello, I'm kind of sorry I'm posting this but I found this on Wikipedia (I know, I know, bad source) and it got me wondering:

In an interview with a representitive for the games, he stated "The new generation will be fantastic, but the White version will be much better than the black"

So, I guess my first question is whether or not there is a way to verify that this is a legit quote, and my second question is this: what exactly could this mean? I don't think any one game version had been "better" than its partner. I'm a little worried about this...

Oh, yes: The Wiki article

Read that part. It seems like a much of baloney. How are the MD games more "state of the art" then each other?

I remember reading on the Wikipedia article that when Megaman Battle Network 3 (Rockman.EXE 3) was first released in Japan, there was a Black and a White version, and the White version was an improvement upon the Black, released only a few months later.

They were later released as Blue and White in North America.

Well, we were already told there would be huge differences between the two that goes beyond version exclusives. But these differences could be anything.

The only way White could be that much better than Black is if White were a 3DS game, while Black was for the DS. Then it would truly parallel the first two Mystery Dungeon games, of which one was for the GBA while the other was on the DS.

I don't see it happening, though... not unless GF intentionally released fake boxart of White to throw us off the track.

White better than Black? RACIST!

In all seriousness, perhaps it might be DSi or even 3DS exclusive.

Edit: Ninjad by Megatron

It was stated that White will be much better than Black? I highly doubt that. If it's true, what's in white that makes it so much better??

Agreed. If white is so much better then why even make black?

I would like to see some plot differences. I really don't think it will be that much different tho

Well we don't know much outside of "more differences out then version exclusives". So it could be minor like slightly edited plots similar to Ruby/Sapphire or it could be completely different in every nook and cranny.

Reshiram and Zekrom are possibly the representations of light and darkness, respectively. They get taken out of the picture by Team Plasma, things could get bad real quick.

I was thinking along those lines. As I said over at TPM...

Black and white are supposed to have major differences between them. So, with that in mind, I have a theory that would explain the switcheroo.

I see there being two teams, a good team and an evil team. In white, you team up with the good guys who are trying to catch and contain Zekrom. With Zekrom out of the way, it would be easier for them to fight the evil team since Zekrom personifies evil. In black, you're part of the evil team, which is trying to do the same with Reshiram. So, it's basically like Ruby and Sapphire but with more potential for plot differences.

I wonder why somebody from Game Freak would be saying something like that in an interview with somebody. If this quote is actually true, this "representative" probably thinks that Zekrom is a complete badass and already deemed White Version to be just as badass because of Zekrom. In other words, it might be just his opinion.

But until proven, I'm thinking that a Pokefan with the same opinion about Zekrom had gotten bored and decided to mess with Wikipedia for shits 'n giggles. There are supposed to be some bigger differences between the versions though (although how they will determine which version is better than the other is only personal preference on everybody's part), and I can't wait to see what they are.

EDIT: Like what was mentioned before, I also think that Reshiram and Zekrom will be the representations of light and darkness, respectively.

Exactly.

Do you fellas actually believe this was said? It's Wikipedia and there ARE lots of editable entries with unconfirmed info. Just the notion that there's some interview out there that we haven't seen stating this is awkward. In fact, I don't think there's been ANY indication of interviews pertaining to the B&W games themselves. And they obviously wouldn't say something so cynical about their own games.

I don't think that part is credible. I also don't think that White would be better than Black. All I can ask is: how is White better than Black?

You know, I could give a very racist remark as an answer to that question right now... so here goes!

White is alright because it reflects all the light.
Black is whack because it takes it all back.

It's definitely not credible, as the full sentence says:

In an interview with a representitive for the games, he stated "The new generation will be fantastic, but the White version will be much better than the black" meaning the White version will be more state of the art, much like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon red (GBA) and blue (DS).

So, like someone said earlier, this would only be true if the boxes lied about both being on the DS. However, if we assume the quote is true, then maybe white has more DSi Enhanced features than Black.

Makes me want to get a DSi of 3DS when it comes out.

I personally think it's all bullcrap. Why would White be better than Black? We've been through seven paired games thus far and NEVER has one been "better" than the other.

If one was to be better than the other it would be breaking a precedent that's been around since square one. The only time a game should be better than another is with the enhanced third versions, like Emerald or Platinum. As far as I can tell, I don't see B&W going the way of Mystery Dungeon: Blue and Red.

ALSO BY THE WAY GUYS.

Wikipedia. They totally told me that the next episode of the anime is going to be バクオングがセールスマン!?ジュンイチとのバトル!, where a salesman with an Exploud fights against Vincent from the Legend of Thunder for a prize.

In short, don't trust TOW about Pokémon info. Trust BP!

White better than Black? RACIST!

If i hear that these games titles are Racist again heads are gonna fucken roll!. Your the Racist by classifying these games by skin colour!. Surely enough the names of the games will be replaced with "Pokemon Light" and "Pokemon Dark" for the US market so they dont crap their pants over the orignal names.

Great, and I was planning on getting Black. Its a good thing that Im waiting until November to get it, so everyone has 2 months to cry over the fact they got the wrong version before I make my decision
