i was wondering what the difference between the us version of pokemon diamond and the uk version of pokemon diamond was. could someone help me out here please?

I think you meant to say the differences between the U.S. and the U.K. version of Pokémon Diamond?

I'm not too sure about that too, but I guess it's probably minor tweaks to the language so it's in line with U.K. English conventions (such as "Endeavor" being spelled "Endeavour").
 
I don't even think there's the u-adding. I think they're the exact same thing, but Nintendo of Europe holds back the UK release so the rest of the EU doesn't get mad at Britain for getting games first.
