Different Region XD and Sapphire link up question.

Hi guys, first post and its a question.

This is my situation. Lets say I have an Australian Pokemon Sapphire, and I have an N/A(North American) GC with an N/A. If I connect my Sapphire to my N/A GC with XD to transfer things, will this delete my sapphire save file?

I ask this because I read in a G-faqs board topic that different region copies of Pokemon Colosseum and Ruby deletes the Ruby save file. An N/A version deletes an Australian Ruby, to be exact, but I assume it to be, if true, the same situation for sapphire, and if it was a PAL Colosseum and an N/A ruby.

So, can anyone confirm both situations? If trading is possible from GC games to the GBA games of a different region, or if it deletes their GBA save file?
