Dig Deep: A fic idea

Dig Deep is an idea I've had for a while. It tells the story of the Underground Man as a teenager, after he leaves home, and his struggle to make money, eventually leading to the creation of the Sinnoh Underground.

Does anyone have any ideas for this fic? And would anyone actually want to read this?
 
You could have him discover the system after breaking the Hallowed Tower and falling through it before the opening was closed by the rubble (Creating the current Hallowed Tower).

And then have an entire arc of exploring the Underground system and having it originally filled with Pokémon.
 
Interesting premise for a story, a fic about a Pokemon NPC who has no direct involvement with Pokemon.

Don't forget that he is Byron's father and Roark's grandfather so presumably he'd have to have some kind of love interest at some point in his life... perhaps his obsession with the underground could endanger this?

Well, since it's him as a teenager, it's not that likely his love interest at the time would end up marrying him and having his children if you're implying that would end up being Roark's grandmother. That being said, if it was just a nobody, that could work.

If he ends up trapped in the Underground, his teenage girlfriend could always be running around on the surface trying to find him. Also, if he's away for a significant period of time - over a year - she could have found a new boyfriend and Mr. Underground could be sad :( (deep, deep feelings there).
