i started crying when i heard the announcement and i haven't stopped since

adventure wasn't even my favorite series omg
 
Whoa, I didn't expect this!

But then does this mean Digimon Adventure 02 isn't canon? Or is it? It could go either way because Taichi was only 14 or 15 in DA02. I kinda hope they reboot the whole thing and make this an entirely new sequel, the true canon, maybe.

I'm not sure how they'll handle it, but considering the 25-year timeskip in 02... I'm guessing they'll pick up from where the Adventure left.
Or they can pick up right before the timeskip, I don't know...
 
Yes! Now they can finally retcon that terrible Tommy Wiseau made no sense ending and Digimon Adventure season 2 altogether.
 
Now watch as this gets delayed, just like Sailor Moon Crystal until this summer. >>

...I'm kidding. Probably. Delayed or not, a second sequel to Adventure has piqued my interest; given that all we have right now is that clip, what I'm really curious about is the staff, including the writer.

Digimon Adventure 02 was actually my favorite. I liked seeing TK and Kairi mature into their own characters rather than the little sibling, and the Armor-Digivolving was pretty sweet. DNA Digivolving got to be a bit much though (especially since it should have been Yolei and Ken to DNA Digivolve after finally overcoming their distrust and whatnot).

Hopefully they'll bring a few things back.
 
I'm still amazed at this news. While I figured that another Digimon series would happen at some point, I never thought that it would be another sequel to Adventure. I thought that door was closed after the epilogue to 02. I'm still excited for it and Adventure 01 wasn't even my favorite Digimon series. It really sounds like it has a lot of good potential. I'm not sure if they'd retcon Adventure 02 altogether or have this take place in a universe where that series didn't happen, but I could see them getting rid of the epilogue. Either that or use parts of this series to help build up to that epilogue so that it actually makes sense this time around. I'd prefer them eliminating it completely, but depending on the execution, building up to it could work too. Still, I'm really excited to see this series next spring.
 
As long as it isnt focused on Sorato then i dont think i should have too many things to complain about
 
I've been ignoring mentions of this, since I lost interest in Digimon after 02. Little did I know this was bringing back the original characters! I should have taken a look. If nothing else I'll check this out off of the pure nostalgia value that I'm sure it has for a lot of us.
 
Well this made my day about a week ago xD I mean it's great that Adventures is getting another sequel after such a long time, I do wonder what they'll do though if the characters are really going to be in high school, no other series has focused on the characters in high school before.

Though to be completely honest I would've preferred a Tamers sequel myself xD that would've made me cry.

I've been waiting for this to come honestly...even though I was totally not expecting it. The nostalgia is crazy, gah! .w.
 
I have my fingers crossed for a full (Adult level) evolution sequence for Tailmon. They gave one to Angemon and the new characters in 02 (and even for one of those foreign Chosen Children's Digimon - "Gotsumon -> Monochromon", I think), but they never gave one to Tailmon. Only time we got "Plotmon -> Tailmon" (0:43) was in this group one, and all of them were short versions.

I also want them to finally give Ultimate-level Warp Evolutions for the rest of the cast like they did for the PSP adaptation.

I like Digimon, but I'm having neutral feeling, more correctly speaking slightly towards negative upon this upcoming new anime...

I'm glad that Bandai made a new Digimon anime, but I don't like a rehash anime, or a sequel that is based on a story which is closed long ago, not yet to mention Adventure 02 is the sequel, so this new anime should become sequel of a sequel.

I kind of have a bad feeling that this new Digimon anime may fail very badly in terms of story plot, especially it will leave more plot holes and disregards Adventure 02's continuity. If they ever make another slump like Hunters that Leap Through Time again, I think that will meant Bandai is starting to nailing the Digimon's coffin, which is something I don't want to see.

Please Bandai, surprise me for good for this new Digimon anime.
 
I actually wouldn't mind if they did a retcon of Digimon Adventure 02. I personally always thought that series was sort of a mess, though I liked Ken and the armor evolutions.

It's probably because Tailmon is at a different evolution stage from the others. While everyone else is a Rookie, Tailmon is already a Champion stage digimon. So Plotmon is actually at the same stage as Agumon, Patamon and the others.
