"Members of DATS." Commander Richard Sampson began, Kudamon wrapped around his neck. "It has been only two years since the return of the Digimon. As you're all aware, Commander-General Homer Yushima has recently passed away."

The now older Miki Kurosaski and Megumi Shirakawa nodded solemnly, their two Pawnchessmon standing beside them.

"It has also been over thirty years since Marcus went to the Digital World. No evidence of him has been found yet." The much-older Thomas H. Norstein added.

"Exactly. And I'm getting too old to hang in there for another thirty years, which is why I would like to announce...my retirement." Commander Richard Sampson said solemnly.
 
"Retirement, sir? I beg your pardon, has my ears deceived me?" Snow asked, gritted his teeth in disbelief, his fist tighten
".. Don't worry, Sir.... We'll find a replacement for old gramps richard." Sorrow the SnowAgumon says, sitting on the floor beside his tamer
"Nonsense." Snow muttered
 
"Calm down please, everyone." Kudamon stated, still wrapped around Richard's neck.

"I would like to introduce my replacement, Miranda Whitchfield." Sampson gestured towards a young woman with long, crimson black hair, her bangs hanging in front of her face. She wore a black and red DATS uniform. A large, armored Digimon stepped up beside her. What could be seen of the Digimon under its armor appeared to be a Greymon. The Greymon had a giant sword swung over its back.

"This is my partner, VictoryGreymon." Miranda gestured to VictoryGreymon who bowed in response.

"I am humbled to meet Master's employees." VictoryGreymon stated.
 
"... Pleased to meet you, Miss, VictoryGreymon." Snow bowed to Richard's replacement and her Digimon regally.
So this is sir Richard's replacement... She looks about Snow's age. Probably 17 or maybe older. Or even younger. How the hell did she managed to be Richard's replacement?
"Eh, well... Nice to meet ya." Sorrow waved to the Digimon and the young woman
 
Miranda gave the two a curt nod and then turned to Sampson. She snapped her finger and two muscular looking DATS Agents were standing on both sides of Sampson.

"I think it's time you left now." Miranda said, smoothly hiding the venom in her tone.

Miranda turned to Thomas. "How much do you know about the Digimon Emperor?"

Thomas nervously adjusted his glasses. "The reign of the Digimon Emperor was almost a hundred years ago. We don't even know if he's fact or fiction. Digimon became popular in 2003 which was around twenty years after his supposed reign."

"Didn't one of the DigiDestined write a series of books?" Miranda asked, trying to hide her frustaration.

"Those books are nearly a hundred years old. Only five copies of them exist in this world, due to Digimon becoming popular with fantasy and science fiction authors." Thomas replied.

"Find out all that you can about the DigiDestined in the 1980's and 90's." Miranda commanded. The rest of you step forward for your mission."
 
"Hm." Snow watched the two muscular DATS agent with hatred, but tries his best to act calm, cool and collected. Why bother wasting breath and losing your cool if you could do nothing about it?
"What should I do, then?" Snow asked, adjusting his silk scarf and looked at his SnowAgumon, who was busy chasing his tail
 
Hallie Knoxford paced outside of DATS Headquarters.

"This is my chance! I can't chicken out!" Hallie tried to assure herself. "Oh! But what if they kick me out? I don't have a Digimon!" Hallie panicked for a moment before reaching into her coat pocket. "But I forgot about this!" Hallie took out a small, gold digivice resembling one of the digivices that belonged to a DATS agent. "I still don't know what this is..." Hallie murmured to herself.

A Few Nights Ago...

Hallie was playing a brand new Digimon MMORPG. Many critics claimed that it was one of the most realistic Digimon RPG's ever! And being the technological nerd that she was, Hallie just had to try it out.

The website had first asked her a quiz about her ideal Digimon. Hallie honestly tried to answer all of the questions. A few minutes after she finished, she noticed her printer turned on by itself and it was currently printing out a sheet of paper. When the paper came out, Hallie took it and examined it.

"Your Digimon Partner Is Armadillomon!" The paper read, giving a brief summary of Armadillomon and its personality traits.

"Oh, come on!" Hallie groaned, glaring at the fat armored Digimon. "Anyone but him! Why couldn't I have gotten something strong like Agumon?"

Hallie noticed the MMORPG had started itself on her computer. Her character had an Armadillomon next to it. Hallie glared at it and began the game.

A few hours later, her Armadillomon had digivolved but the three hour time limit on the game had expired. As the MMORPG closed itself, her computer screen began glowing and something went flying towards her face.

SMACK!

"What the hell?" Hallie grabbed the strange object that had hit her face. A...digivice?

Inside DATS...

"There's a wild Ankylomon rampaging just outside. I want you to find it and obtain its mercenary egg by defeating it in battle." Miranda commanded.

Outside...

An large Ankylomon swung his spiked tail at a building. People ran away, screaming. The Ankylomon's eyes were glowing red as he blindly raged, swinging his tail and stomping on cars.

"Free at last!" Ankylomon roared before continuing to stomp on a car.
 
"As you wish, miss." Snow nods, turning on his snowflakes shaped headphones. A song began to play in it, a mysterious and creepy song.
The song starts out with a music box solo which is then supported by strings, and finally organ and the brass. It changes octaves once, and keys twice.
the song begins with the chime of a locket, builds into a strong organ section before repeating again, and again. Snow always did this when he's out hunting wild Digimon, just to makes things a lot more epic.

He rushed through the door and headed straight outside, Sorrow, his SnowAgumon, is running beside him, cracking his knuckle, muttering about how he always wanted to fight a champion Digimon.
As the DATS agent and his Digimon is outside, they saw a huge, Dinosaur Digimon, destroying a car by a single stomp of his gigantic feet.

".... Don't disappoint me, Sorrow." Snow calmly says, his scarf flutters in the wind.
"Yes, sire." Sorrow smirked "let's start off with a weak attack, first."
"It won't work. You see his armor? Now, an Ankylosaurus will crouch to hide his soft spot when he's facing a predator. Now, use advantage of your small body." Snow says, walking a few steps backward

"Alright!" Sorrow says, rushing to the Ankylosaurus, hiding amongst the crowds of panicking people, so that the Ankylosaurus didn't notice him.
 
"Whoa!" Hallie crouched as debris and bricks came falling off the building next to her. Amongst the rubble, she noticed a glowing Digimon egg.

"This must be a Mercenary egg!" Hallie exclaimed. "I should return it to DATS."

Hallie made her way to DATS Headquarters but found her path blocked by the rampaging Ankylomon who didn't notice the small SnowAgumon.
 
"Sire, there's a young woman near the Ankylosaurus." Sorrow shouted, blending in with the crowds of running human
"Hm, our top priority was to defeat that Digimon. Let me handle the girl." Snow said, running as fast as he could to the girl Sorrow mentioned
Sorrow smirked, then he slid below Ankylomon and shoots a white, cold energy from his mouth, similar to pepper breath
 
Hallie noticed a boy approaching her. "Hello! Can I help in any way?" Hallie asked.
 
"There is no time for formalities. Can't you see that its dangerous here?" Snow asked the young woman. He then noticed the mercenary egg on the girl's hand. "That is.... A mercenary egg. How come you have it in your possession?"

"I'm in a little trouble, here!" Sorrow yells, climbing onto Ankylomon's head with ease, and stabbed the forehead with his claw
 
"I found it hidden amongst some rubble." Hallie reached into her coat pocket and pulled out three Beast Data Chips. "And you need these to hatch it, right?"
 
"You sure know a lot about Digimon." Snow began to think, until Sorrow let's out a roar and shoots another freezing pepper breath "its not safe here. Come with me. Sorrow, do your best."
With that, Snow took the woman's hand and ran to the DATS Headquarter.
 
Miranda glared at the two as she saw them. "What are you two doing here?"
 
"Your order is to obtain a mercenary egg and defeat the Ankylomon. She has the mercenary egg, and I'm sure my SnowAgumon could handle a weakling like that Ankylomon." Snow explains, gesturing toward the Mercenary Egg on the young woman's hand

Hallie carried the egg over to an Incubator and placed it as well as the Beast data in, after a few moments, the Incubator began glowing and an Elecmon was hatched from the egg.

"It's always safer to fight with two Digimon." Hallie stated.

Meanwhile...

The Ankylomon clawed at his face, trying to remove the burning sensation from Pepperbreath's aftermath. Ankylomon blindly swiped at SnowAgumon.
 
Sorrow cursed and jumped from Ankylomon's head, landed in Snow's arms. Snow put his SnowAgumon back on his feet and they stood side by side, assessing the situation and making strategies to defeat the Digimon. Even though Sorrow lacks power and defense, he has the advantages when it comes to speed, and small size.

Snow still looked calm and collected. He turned off his headphones, before finally looking into his Digimon "Relax. It is perfectly understandable to tense up in combat, but you must make every effort to stay calm, keep the muscles loose, and regulate your breathing. If you are tight, you cannot act with speed, which can be fatal. Now, aim for all his legs so he couldn't move."

"Aight, sire!" Sorrow nods, opening his mouth and shoots forth freezing pepper breath, and rolled to his right, shooting more freezing pepper breath
 
The Ankylomon clawed at his face in rage. The Elecmon took advantage of this and leapt at Ankylomon. "Super Thunder Strike!" Thunder came out of Elecmon's tail and shocked the Ankylomon. Ankylomon stumbled a bit but didn't fall.

Hallie reached into her pocket and pulled out some Digimon cards that had come out of her computer. Hallie took out two Evolution cards and passed the other to Snow.

Hallie swiped the card through the Digivice she received. Elecmon was surrounded in light as it digivolved to Leomon.
 
"I need to thank you properly later." Snow took the card, adjusting his scarf and then swipe it on his light blue Digivice.
Sorrow spread his arms and his body began to glow, he's Digivolving into a Coelamon, an ancient fish digimon that luckily could stand on his two small legs.

"I've been waiting so long." Sorrow smirked, with a wave of his hand, he shoots forth a sharp ice shards to the Ankylomon
