So... I took some pics the other night with my mom's Fuji FinePix digital camera and there's a wee problem...

The pics show up on the screen of the camera, but they don't work when we load them into the computer.

Anyone know what's up? My brother thinks I did it to sabotage the pics of him fishing and he won't give me a moment's rest until this is fixed.

I'm not familiar with the camera, but My guess is that you need the camera specific software for it. There's no way you could have "sabotaged" it in that way.

If it isn't the software, then what type of media does the camera use? SD cards? (If So)Maybe you just have the SD card locked. Also, if it does have some extra medium, maybe your camera has some space for storage on it, and you accidentally took the pictures and stored them in the camera instead of the memory card.

The only way I can think of where something like that can happen is 1) If the battery died in the middle of a shot and its designed to write the thumbnail first, 2) There is some kind of weird image recovery system in the camera (which I doubt is true) which stores back-ups in the camera and you accidentally deleted it. 3) The camera is broken

It's an XD card, actually.

We used the USB connection, though, and it works fine...

^_^;; well you can't argue with results...
