does anyone else feel this bttle was raher harsh with charzizard Tht the writers purposely made charizard lose soash couldnt go any further?

Also i have a coupleof questions:

A. Did charizard use any flyin type attacks, ever? I mean its been like 6 years since i watched the kano saga so icant rmember. I have the orange saga on dvd and in all of the orange episodes it never use its flying type moves. Should Ash have used flying type moves vs blaziken instead?
 
I'll be honest and say that I'm not actually sure how much move typings really matter that much any more in the Anime.
 
The battle of the end of Johto. You should rather watch the episode video.
Charizard didn't use a single flying attack on Blaziken at all!
He did plenty of flamethrowers, dragonrages, a failed seismic toss and plenty of physical attacks.

Sad but still, I consider this the best battle after Char vs Magmar in Indigo and Ash vs Gary in Johto. Heck I still think this battle is better than those in the Battle Frontier. Plus it is because of this battle I think that the Hoenn League sucked.
 
I've always wondered if it was actually said that Blaziken was a fighting type before the battle. It didn't use any fighting attacks at all which is the cause of my suspicion.
