Do I need Wifi for virtual console?

I am really anticipating Super Metroid on VC. I am also excited for some other games on VC as well like Kid Icarus. (yes, I have played the old Mario/Zelda's, fear not)

In order to buy games for the Virtual Console, you need a Wi-Fi connection. Though, obviously, you don't need one just to play them.

By the way, I suggest you just get a WiFi router, they're better and more useful.

I have one, but I never figured out how to use my Linksys G.4 router. I connected it, but for some reason, it never worked successfully.

I really want to download Virtual Console games, but I don't have Wi-Fi.

@ Infinite Sceptile, I share your pain man. I will probably just buy the USB, (and waste my paycheck) because my mom yells at me for setting up the router, because half the time I lose my internet in the process.
