this question has started a huge debate between me and my girl friend. I think that they don't and she thinks that the do bucaust the episode when Misty said to Ash that birds eat worms in ferance of ash'd caterpie was fighting a pidgey.

There have been several threads on this, and if Pokédex entries in-game are anything to go by, yes, Pokémon do eat other Pokémon

"Taillow is young - it has only just left its nest. As a result, it sometimes becomes lonesome and cries at night. This Pokémon feeds on Wurmple that live in forests" ~ Taillow's Sapphire entry.

Almost every other entry talks about how a Pokemon "gets" its "prey". Unless that means humans...

Also, protip- don't ruin a relationship over a technicality in Pokemon. KTHNX

I dunno. They possibly could because the anime or manga doesn't show what they do 24/7

They definitely do in the game canon, the anime canon, and the manga canon.
The only canon that I can't be sure of is the card game's canon. Lol

If they eat ANYTHING, they'd likely have to go to the bathroom. Unless they found some other means to remove waste products from their bodies.

I guess this is why they choose to remain vague in revealing pokémon anatomy. I suppose these things are implied, otherwise the anime would have to show Ash and the gang in the bathroom as well lol.
