Do Pokemon get hungry while in their Pokeballs?

It's an odd subject, but a subject nonetheless. I've noticed in the old episodes of the Pokemon anime, none of the pokemon ate anything with regularity. They seemed like creatures who never ever get hungry. In later episodes, the subject is being touched on with berries, poffins, pokeblocks, etc.

So, I was wondering, do they? I've always imagined that when they're called into the pokeballs they're transformed from matter to energy thereby eliminating such a requirement. But with Dawn, Ash and Brock cooking stuff up more often and giving their Pokemon berries, I'm not sure what to think anymore...

Thoughts?

I don't think so. Remember that episode with the Sandshrew who was in his Pokeball for years? Pretty sure he would've died by then.

It's just that the twerps Pokemon are out allllll the time. :p

It really is possible that they are converted to energy when they are in their poke balls. However, if their energy I don't think they would be conscious and pokemon come out on their own some times and there was a time when they couldn't in that Diglett episode in Kanto.

Nah I think they get food inside their balls
Challenge:
ok, everyone, think of a restuant for each ball

Pokeball - Your generic pokeball, you catch pokemon by throwing this at them.
Greatball- This type of pokeball will have better success than normal pokeballs on average.
Ultraball - This type of pokeball will have better succes than even greatballs on average.
Masterball - This pokeball will catch the pokemon you throw it at without fail.

Net ball- This pokeball works well on bug and water type pokemon.
Nest ball - This pokeball works best on weak pokemon.
Timer ball- This pokeball works better as more turns of battle pass.
Repeat ball - This pokeball works well on pokemon you've already captured before.
Dark ball - This pokeball works best in dark places, like caves.
Cherish ball - This comes with special event pokemon and is not normally a usable item.
Safari ball - This pokeball is given to you for the Safari Zone game.
Fast ball- This pokeball captures pokemon easier by trying to use it at the beginning.
Dusk ball- This pokeball makes it easier to catch pokemon during the night time.

go!

This theory may be dumb: the Poke Ball throws the Pokemon into some sort of stasis, regulating its energy levels.

come on, it's fun!
repeat ball- Local Diner with return customer discount
Luxury Ball- cheesecake factory
Dark Ball- a dark bar
timer ball- great food, but it takes forever

does that mean you support me or dislike them?

anyway, come one everyone!

pokéball-wendys not that great, but liveable
fast ball- mc donalds, FAST FOOD!
net ball- Sea food
repeat ball alterante- only......mashed......potatoes
safaria ball- wild, exoctic, and possible endangered specie foods!

I seriously doubt it that Pokemon can starve in their Pokeballs (as previously stated in the thread).

As for that one theory thing...

Pokeball - Food familiar to the Pokemon in it.

Anybody remember the episode where Ash caught Snorlax? One of the characters, I can't remember who, said that Snorlax doesn't need as much food when inside a Pokeball, so maybe they're put in a state of semi-hibernation.

this officially a joke thread now. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
clamperl- oysters
crawdaunt- lobster
miltank- cheese/butter
tauros- beef
spoinks- ham
ditto- tofu, (The vegetarians need equaly representation, such as myself)
ghastly- I HAVE NO IDEA!

I've been playing my game for 126 hours, and let me say, sir, none of my Pokemon has ever asked for food. I just give them lemonade and berries.

If you have ever seen the inside of a Poke ball in the anime, obviously, your--
--ack, the Poke balls are so very mysterious!

Well, in the new shows, they're brought out to eat this food that look a lot like truffles. How is it made? And why is Brock the only one that knows?
...
...
Okay, I'll ask. Has anyone besides me seen the infamous Robot Chicken "Inside a Pokeball" sketch?
