Well having 4 generations still stuck wirth Paralyzed, frozen, asleep, and all the rest of their buddies, don't you think its time they introduced new status conditions? I think it would spice up battle in new ways.

No.

Additional secondary conditions (Confusion, infatuation, Leech Seed, Ghost Curse, etc.) are fine, but I don't want to mix the major ones. PSN/PAR/FRZ/BRN/SLP is enough.

Got any ideas for stat conditions? Cause I can't think of any. We have enough as is.

Congrats on levelling up to mod btw Ryu, also I actually like the way the status conditions work at the minute and see no reason to change it - Plus you have to think just one new status condition would mean a number of new moves, new potions/berries, meta-game changes, etc. I don't see it happening, which is just fine by me

It would be awesome if there were an opposite for Attract status. Like maybe an Anger status, where the Pokemon refuses to listen to the trainer's commands and does a random attack that it knows.

I wouldn't mind if they turned stat changes into actual effects that would still operate the same, but now they'd have names and a visual representation to know it's in effect (rather than, say, trying to use Swords Dance one last time only to find out your Attack is as high as it'll go).

That's actually great.
Anyway, I think new secondary status conditions needs to see more daylight, and it would really open some new design space for GameFreak.

But again, do you have ideas of your own?

I think there are enough conditions beacuase you dont want to many it will just make the game complicated and will spoil the point of poke battling :)

Rust.
For metal types that act like Poison, and at the same time lower defense (like burn lowers attack)

Eh, I'm not jamming on type specific ailments.

I don't think there should be new major status conditions. But: maybe there should be a status condition similar to burn, only that Special Attack is halved this time.

I don't see a reason to have new status effects. Maybe a secondary effect but not a primary effect.

I have a couple ideas.

Shiver: Makes it impossible to use a physical attack for a few turns. Does wear off in battle.

Bliss: The Pokemon's stats can't be raised due to "satisfaction" with its current stats. Must be removed with an item. In double battles, the Pokemon also has a very slight tendency to attack its own partner to aid the opponent (because the opponent made it "happy").

But yeah, I don't see a need for new ones either.

That would actually be pretty cool. I mean, the status condition has been in the game since the first one but it's rarely a problem to anyone, only if you trade your Pokemon in too high levels. Now it would actually get some importance and be a pretty annoying condition to get. ;)

New status ailments would be cool and bring more depth and strategy to the battling! Seeming as Burn lowers attack and Paralysis lowers speed, some status ailments that lowered the other stats would be cool too.

New status conditions...

Dizzy?

Depressed?

Drunk?

Not much more they could add, I'm fine with the current list of status conditions.:yahoo:

Why exactly would you put "drunk" in a game where most kids don't even know what that is?

Traded pokemon do that without a certain badge.
I don't really want new statuses, The current ones are good enough for me.
