Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos League?

Personally I believe that he will, you seeeeeeeeeee. I base this on my ego. My ego tells me that since there aren't that many new pokemon in this region we're going to be seeing a lot of the old ones and since this is the case then the writers will be forced to include the ones that Ash already has caught. You seeeeeeeeeeee, if you noticed carefully you'll notice that there is also a recurring pattern throughout the franchise;

In Kanto, Ash only used the Pokemon that he had caught in Kanto since he hadn't been to any other region before that.
(I'm not taking the Orange Islands/Battle Frontier into account btw, why? You seeeeeee I am what people might call kind of a d*ck.)
In Johto, Ash used both the ones he caught in Kanto and Johto.
In Hoenn, he only used the ones he caught there.
In Sinnoh, he used various Pokemon he had caught in previous regions.
In Unova, he used only the ones he caught there. (Take into account that Unova introduced a sh!t ton of new pokemon)
And now we are in Kalos, and the time has come for him to recall his old Pokemon into action, what's more interesting is that since he called Charizard to Oak's lab then it's likely that he'll get to use him again and perhaps he'll even mega evolve.

Now that alone can't prove jack sh*t but it does imply the fact that it is more likely. Patterns can change however. :(

Another fact is that Ash is a lot more mature and shown to have had experience in the Pokemon world from previous regions unlike the start of Best Wishes where he forgot how to catch Pokemon. Maybe bringing back his old Pokemon will depict the fact that he is an experienced and talented Pokemon trainer.

If I had to use my power of thinking and give it a number depicting the possibility that Ash will in fact reuse his previously caught Pokemon it would be at around 85%. What I still do not understand however is how Pikachu managed to take out a Latios yet had trouble against a Bunnelby in XY. Maybe he was holding back or something? Idk but i'm hoping that's the case.

Anyway it is now up to you to decide, whether to ignore this thread or write an opinion based on the facts that I have given you. Good luck, friend.

Well the facts that you put up makes it sound likely so I guess so. But my personal opinion is that Charizard should stay away from Kalos. Ash has Heracross too. It can Mega Evolve.

I certainly hope he brings back some older 'mons. Especially Super Special Awesome Charizard, and not just because he's my favorite ass kicker. The fact that there are two Megalutions for the Big C practically demands that the two battle each other. Ash could control one, and his Kalos rival (should he get one) could control the other.

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

Since Charizard is much too popular, they'll probably bring him back for Mega-evolution, whether we like it or not.

I'd LOVE to see Heracross come back. That bug never got the attention it deserved.

Depends on when the league takes place, honestly. Johto and Sinnoh were at the end of their respective series, Hoenn and Unova weren't so they had plenty of time to bring back Ash's older Pokémon for big fights.

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

I would really like to see the return of Ash's Charizard in the series, it would be a perfect opportunity to exploit nostalgia at maximum. I think it will be done, whether we like it or not.

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

If Charizard doesn't join Ash's roster and Mega Evolves, the producers are even bigger idiots than I ever thought. Though whether it happens in the League or another big occasion (involving a big gym battle, villains, a Legendary,) is the rub.

And chances are. Heck, I'd like it if he used them for if the occasion called for it like with the Battle Frontier. Though that's unlikely since we've got Gen Sixers to pimp.

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

I could definetely see them being brought back for the league. And yea, Charizard is blatantly going to get a Mega Evo. Would love for Heracross to get his one too, another of my Fave Ash poke. You know what else would be awesome? If Sycamore manages to figure out Garchomp's mega evo, and then gives the Garchomponite to Ash. Because then Gible could totally be the super bad ass he has the potential to be. Dreams are for free.

But yes, bring back some of the classics, mainly ones that have been underused, like half the Unova team, Glalie and co, Muk and Kingler, those dudes. Would be great to see. Just don't overshadow the Kalos team like the Johto League did

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

Not only do I want to see them at the league, I want to see them pop up randomly or have Ash need one or two of them for something. There's no reason why there can't be some contest or something that would make Ash call back a Pokémon from Oak's that is suitable for it (like the Snorlax Sumo episode) or a mini tournament ala Whirl Cup.

If they made a similar tournament like whirl cup, with only the use of one pokémon type(or maybe a sky battle tournament??) they could actually do it properly now that he has more pokémon to choose from!

That'd be sweet. Ash would Dominate a flying type tourney. He'd be pretty good at a Ground and Fire type tourney as well. Would back him in a Grass one too. Maybe even a fighting one.

Dammit, now I really want this to happen

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

I think there is a good chance that he will since most of the Pokemon in Kalos are previous gen Pokemon. So I think it makes sense for Ash to use his old Pokemon in the Kalos league alongside with his newer ones.

In addition, Prof. Sycamore in the games gives you one of the three Kanto starters. Ash's Bulbasaur, Charizard, and Squirtle could make cameo appearances to advertise this part of the XY games.

Plus Ash has a bunch of Pokemon that can Mega-Evolve (Charizard and Heracross anyone?).

Very much so. We haven't seen his Pokemon in so long, and it's time that they get a bit of spotlight. I know that there technically was an Oak's Lab episode in BW, but only Bulbasaur was shown while everyone else was restricted to the picture at the end.

Plus, like everyone is saying, there's Mega Evolutions.

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

Yes, considering Kalos has like no new Pokémon compared to the amount of old ones that live there, and he's caught a lot of the decent old ones.
And he has Pokémon that need to evolve.

Re: Do you believe that Ash will use his previously caught Pokemon in the Kalos Leagu

Sure, since just like Johto and Sinnoh, Kalos has a pretty big focus on older Pokemon. Hoenn and Unova were all about starting fresh and focused on new stuff, so he only used Pokemon from that region in those leagues.

I have a feeling this is either going to end up like the Battle Frontier battle against Brandon, or the end of Sinnoh. Ash has been slowly improving- but barely- over the years. I just hope that maybe this is the year he may actually win a league.

He needs to have a team of just his various Tauros, just call it there and forget he has Pikachu.

but seriously, I haven't been keeping up consistently enough to really speculate on this, but I think it'd be neat if he made a "best of" team from older seasons.

preach!

Since Ash only has 5 Pokemon as of now, I can see him using Pokemon he captured in past regions. If he does, I hope he'll bring back some of his underdeveloped ones for early rounds, then break out the big powerhouses like Charizard, Krookodile, Infernape, Heracross, Sceptile, and Snorlax when the full battles begin. Of course I want to see these alongside Pokemon like Greninja, Noivern, Talonflame, and Hawlucha.

If the league has around 128 contestants, that makes up for 7 rounds, though we'll probably only see 4-5. Hopefully at least 5 without any being skipped over.

Probably not, but I really hope so. That was epic in Sinnoh when Ash used all of his different Pokémon in the conference.
