I was a bit bored playing Emerald, so I played Leaf Green for a change. Instead of picking the male character, I picked the female one. Am I the only one who does this or what?

I've done that before. Though, usually it's when I'm replaying a game then when I'm first starting it.

I do it alot. When I get bored of using the boy over and over again, then I choose the female.

Re: Am I the only guy here playing as a female in the games?

In my Japanese Pearl I chose Hikari as the player character because I'm already Lucas on both Diamond and Platinum; I thought it would be rather boring to be the same character and have the same sprite in three versions (it's the first time I own and actually finish the main story on all the versions from the "same" game).

Re: Am I the only guy here playing as a female in the games?

Nope, played as Haruka in Ruby and Hikari in both Pearl and Platina. I just go with whatever character i like better.

I only play as the females when I'm going through the game a second time.

I played through LeafGreen as the girl for two reasons. One, I thought TR's downfall was more humorous if it was a girl who did it (not that I'm stereotyping, but they probably would), and two, it's LEAFGreen.

I used Dawn in my Diamond version ... mostly because i thought Lucas look rediculus in his outfit

Unfortunatly that got me a lot of confused looks when i was at events or battling online

I usually play as the female on ruby/sapphire/emerald

Re: Am I the only guy here playing as a female in the games?

Planning to do this (playing as Kotone) on my primary save on HeartGold when it's released in Europe. :p

E: Also played as May twice when collecting the three starters in Sapphire, the same with the lent FireRed (with Leaf). Just so I could get a bit of variety to my Pokémon's OTs.

E2: The thread title changed, edited the post a bit so that it would be a bit clearer.

It's become a tradition for me to play a character opposite gender of myself for a long time now. Plus I tend to like the male designs better than the female designs. Dear god, especially the female protagonist of DPPt. I'm not going to run around dressed like a 10-year-old slut plzkthx. :/

You aren't alone.

I think the only female design I liked were the one of May and the one of Crystal girl, although I've never played Crystal.
