So, do you choose to evolve your Pokemon as soon as you are capable of, or do you wait to train them so more so they'll be stronger?

Personally with me, even though you might be losing out on learning some moves, I choose to train them for a little more. Usually if there's a move that the pre-evo learns but the evo doesn't learn.

And if it's a Pokemon I really like, and I don't want to evolve it, I'll catch another one of them and evolve that, or if I can catch the evolved form I'll catch it.

Most of the time I do, but when I played Emerald, I had to stop my Bagon from evolving until it learned Dragon Claw at level 46.

In Platinum, I had to stop Shroomish from evolving so that it could learn Spore at level 45. And that wasn't an easy task.

If I'm training something like Beldum or Kakuna, I let it evolve straight away.

That's really the only reason I could see for not evolving a Pokemon as quickly as possible. Well, that and the fact that Evos usually tend to learn moves at a much slower pace in general.

By level up, evolve as soon as they can. If it's by stone or trade or whatever, I wait until it has learned all the good moves I want it to.

Yeap, I evolve my Pokemon as soon as I can.. This is because I always thought evolution is pretty cool.. And obviously I don't want to drag its status down..

Not always. If a Pokemon can learn a (useful) move that it's evolved form can't, I wait. If I like a Pokemon more than it's evolved counterpart, I simply won't evolve them at all (I have a level 100 Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle and I'm currently training a Pikachu and a Jigglypuff.) Otherwise, yes, I'll evolve them as soon as I can

Usually; I don't if I want a certain move earlier.

Yeah, pretty much with all of 'em. The only times I don't is if I like the base form more than the fully evolved one, like with Bulbasaur.

That's sort of the same with me, if it's a Pokemon I like more than the evolved form(s) of it, I wouldn't evolve it. And if it's not a starter/only one of them per game 'mon, I'd catch another one and evolve that one, much like I stated in the OP.

I also won't evolve them if I have at least one of the evolved form already.

Yes, I always evolve them to their final forms as soon as possible. There have been very few occasions where I have stopped them from evolving for a move.

I generally evolve them as soon as I can. Even with the ones that evolve using stones, I try to hold on for a little while if there are some good moves they can only learn from leveling up, but I can get really antsy after a while and I usually try to see if I can find said moves via TM rather than waiting for them to get to the right level.

I only prevent evolution if they learn a good move quite earlier than their evo's.

No.

All my Ralts get to level 45 ... or whereever they get hypnosis. before the quick evolution to gardevoir.

i take my time. the only quick evos are the starters
