Self-explanatory.

Usually some people I know bash me for watching the Pokemon anime. So do you all get bashed for it too?

Discuss.

Not me, but of course I like the parts that most people do (outside of this and other Pokemon forums) and are familiar with as well so its really no big thing.

No. I was smart enough to clam up about pokemon in general once the fad was over, however many years ago that was. Closest I've ever got discussing it since then involved mocking the character names (while feining knowledge of them initially!) with some guy I had to sit with at a design show.
That Magmar. She's got 3 kids but spends her time reading gossip articles.

Nope. They won't dare, because, if they try to bash me because of POKEMON. I make them cry. Its happened...NOBODY insults POKEMON in front of me, or any where NEAR me for that matter

No, because Pokémon isn´t serious business to me anyway.

I am known for loving Nintendo games, so no one ever says a thing about the DS games. I have a few friends who have DP as well ( all over 20 ).
I don´t talk about the anime when I´m around non-fans, so...no problem here either. Why would I talk about the anime with people who don´t like it anyway?

But, hey, they are allowed to make fun of the anime if they want to. It´s not the greatest thing in the world to me, and I´m not tired of making fun of the Twilight-franchise to annoy some of my female friends either ( they just NEED to talk about it all.the.time). Equal Rights to Everybody, I guess. =)

People try to bash me at first but all I need to say is "James wore inflatable boobs once" and suddenly I'm the coolest person in town :U

Nah, in all seriousness the people who're familiar with my animé-liking just don't seem to understand why I like it, but apparently get it when I explain my twisted perception of how the show's like and why I like it.
Deep down I think my peers love Pokémon but are too afraid to stand by it. Two years ago I had a teacher who had several Pokémon keychains with him and he was declared the most awesome teacher ever. Just for that.
He was crap at teaching but man. He was awesome.

I have a friend who sometimes teases me for watching it.....
Otherwise, no.

Getting mocked for watching cartoons only happens between the age of 16~20. Adolescents really struggle with wanting to be adults, while they're still kids at heart.

Once you pass that age, you can get away with watching cartoons by chalking it up to nostalgia. At least with my friends it works that way, and they're fairly normal.

Next time you're at a friend's birthday party, casually bring up cartoons in the group, and you got yourself a topic that will last for hours, as people constantly keep bringing up show after show.

Lol, nice. I kinda did something similar at one time, but instead they just gave me weird looks like "wtf?"

Whoa....I didn't think of it that way. Now that I think back on it, there have been times where I see my parents talk about certain cartoons with their friends. That happened at where I work also, we started to get into a conversation about Roco's Modern Life, and a girl I work with couldn't remember what he was (he's a kangaroo I believe).

Whenever I get teased for watching the anime, it's usually by a couple of close friends, but it's not done on purpose...it's all in good fun. Otherwise, I didn't talk or give hints out in school or work about my interests in both the anime and games.

Everyone who knows me knows that Pokémon is my life
I don't care what people think, I like Pokémon and if anyone has a problem with that, well... too bad for them, I don't care

I hate it when people hide what they like, that's extremely ridiculous, especially since they do that because they're afraid that friends will laugh at them - excuse me but I don't call such stupid people "friends"...

If anyone is acting "immature" it's the people who laugh at others and go by such ridiculous "rules", not the people who can use their brain and understand that there's absolutely no reason to force yourself to randomly stop loving what you loved until now just because you exist on this world a little longer than before

Yes, I used to, when I watched it.

I just don't mention my love for it openly ;-) Those who know me closely know I love it and totally facepalm every time it even REMOTELY comes up, but otherwise I try and avoid mentioning it. Last time I mentioned it casually in front of a group of people... yeah. Never again xD

I don't make a fuss about my fandoms anymore (because there's no one to talk to at the moment), but last year when I talked about Pokémon with some people, they didn't seem to care much. One of them called me weird because I knew so many names in Japanese, though. The other Pokémon fans in my country only seem to care about the games and hate the anime (or care just of the old episodes, bleh).

If someone asks what my favorite anime is, I might slip Pokémon in between of other other series. Which is silly, since it is the most dearest anime for me. But I'm shy.

It's... not like I go around advertising it. XD Although I do have two Pokémon t-shirts at the moment. I'd probably wear them to school if I weren't having to dress in layers a bunch recently.

Anywayz! Among my friends, it's not exactly a secret or anything. So, no, I don't get ridiculed about it, or anything really. As far as I'm aware. o.o' I've actually found- both from my own experiences and watching others- that bringing up a love of Pokémon is a good way to get the people around you to love you instantly for being so cute (and really, we're fans of Pokémon; we are all automatically adorable). As long as you're around the right people, anyway.

I'm a little too old to get ridiculed for liking Pokemon anymore. I have two Pokemon T-shirts and when people my age see them they're more likely to say "oh cool, a Pokemon T-shirt =D" than "oh lulz you're such a loser". I don't go around advertising my love for Pokemon, but when it comes up I'll talk and I'm not shy about telling people that I'm playing Platinum on the DS if they ask.

Of course, I got ridiculed for it till I was in the 9th grade. Then I started contributing to school events with my Pokemon-influenced anime art and they had to find other things to make fun of. That was seven years ago, though! It's been so long.

I don't exactly shout it out to the world that I watch, but I don't care who knows that I watch it. And so far I haven't been made fun of or anything. I admit, not a lot of people know I watch, but the ones who do couldn't care less. xD Besides a lot of people my age grew up with Pokemon, so when they figure out I watch it, most of them just remember back and think it's cool. :p
