Do you identify with the characters that you ship?

It appears to me that what draws people to a ship is if they specifically like certain characters or find that they identify them. Some people want their favorite characters to be happy, so they pair them up with who they think would be the best counterpart to their humanly existance.

But do you usually identify with a pairing that you ship? If you can't find any of your own traits in one of the characters you ship with another, do you do it because you think said pairing brings out the best in each other?

How much of your own personality influences you on the characters you ship, regardless if they actually "meet" in the anime or not, and depending on screentime?

I support Penguinshipping (mainly as Kenny is cool) probably because that teasing quality of it is something most kids know of from their younger days.

I don't identify with many of the characters that I ship...in fact, Meowth's just about the only one, and even then it's mostly that he's been my favorite character since I saw the show and had a rampant crush on him when I was little. Only thing I really relate to Meowth with is being a smartass and a loser. I'm rather stuck being a Blueshipper, it's the only ship I really like with Meowth, or James, and the other ships I like are just ones I'm fond of- Pikashipping, for example. I'm nothing like Ash or Pikachu, so yeah, I'm not biased when it comes to shipping characters that are most like or exactly like me.

Pikachu, because even if there's a girl who crushes on me, I'd be completely clueless.

I definitely identify most with Misty, no doubt about it. We're a lot more similiar than we seem, just ask anyone who knows me well. That is part of the reason why I came to love her and shippings so much. At one point, I had a crush on someone but never revealed it until he told revealed it himself. I blame, or should I say thank Pokeshipping for the two of us. Love can sure have its' wonders, yes.

As for Ash, I can mostly identify with his determination and pretty much the type who won't back down easily without a fight. So yes, I do relate to most characters I ship.

There are many characters who I can relate to, but like I said, Misty takes the cake for me.

I totally identify with Lance. Admittedly, in the Anime and Game he doesn't have that much of a personality developed, so I injected a lot of my views into him. As for Special Lance, I just *love* him so it's easy to play him.

As for Ash, I find it a lot harder to identify with him, simply because he's too 'rough and tumble' for my style.
