How do you feel about traveling by plane? What’s your experience like? Personally, it’s one of my favorite things in life. I had my first flight when I was 6 and I remember loving the sound of the plane taking off, it felt like rock n roll music in my ears. I still remember the gate/number letter before we departed to California. I love looking out the window and seeing the clouds, oceans, fields, rivers, cities and towns. I love watching the plane on the map. I love airports, and even being near an airport makes me really happy. Thankfully I haven’t experienced any severe turbulence before, and every flight has been really nice.

i haven't traveled by plane since i was 10 years old to visit my grandparents... so many years have passed and i've never had the opportunity to do so due to various life circumstances, and i hope to change that, someday. i don't think i'd be afraid of flying by plane, and i think i'd quite enjoy it. not sure when my next journey via flight would be, but i'm hoping it'd be soonish so i can experience flying again. c:

I like the journey more than the vacation, so plane rides are cool. I prefer train rides, though. They’re longer and you get to see more things that way.

I honestly love flying!! I love traveling in general and I’ve been fortunate enough to get to do a fair amount of it in my life, though certainly not all for leisure. I love being in transit just generally, I find there’s something so freeing about it. Possibilities feel limitless, there’s a sense of optimism, and there’s a kind of relief that I experience where I know that no matter how overactive my brain gets, there’s nothing else I can do when I’m in transit but be in transit! It’s got a sort of peacefulness or assurance to it for me and that’s true of flying as much as any other form!

I think I prefer airports to bus or train stations, they just tend to be a little more interesting and sometimes they have their own trains and such.

And god, no matter how many times I see the sprawling pink and gold soaked cloudscapes from the plane window it always feels as magical as the first time. I think of dragons and fairies, deities and secret creatures who make their home in this mysterious fluffy world and its sweeping vistas. I just love it.

I like flying on planes, specially when it is getting off the ground and I feel like I’m floating. I also love taking pictures of the clouds. Fr I wish I could sit on clouds.

I love flying actually. There's something so soothing and surreal about being above the clouds. Unfortunately I'm allergic to a lot of foods, so whenever a I get on a plane, I just have to cringe every time I see Peanuts, and Pretzels (cause only gluten is popular for whatever reason) on the floor. But once I get to my seat (preferably near the window) I love cruising above ground.

oh wow i'm the odd one out in this thread it seems. up until this year i had only flown on a plane once when i was 5 years old and all i can remember is having severe ear pain and crying my eyes out. i've been terrified of the idea of flying my whole life, but this year i braved getting on a plane to go to chicago for my favorite singer's first ever concert in the US... because like... of course i have to see that. you think i'm going to let my fear of flying stop me from seeing that? i did successfully make the trip and see the concert and it was totally worth it but i cried during lift-off and was so scared on the way to chicago that for like, the entire two hours, i could barely engage with the distractions i had brought with me and was just anxiously texting my friends to try and keep myself together. the way back home i cried less and was able to watch some horizons on the plane without being completely distracted but it was still pretty difficult.

i really do want to get better at flying though, because i would love to travel more in the future. actually being on the ground in places i'm not familiar with is awesome! i just hate having to fly to get there. and i'm going to need to fly one day to take my dream trip to japan... i have some practice lined up next month because i'm flying to florida (once again alone LOL) for a friend's wedding. it's my first time going to a wedding. lots of firsts this year i guess

tldr; i'm terrified of flying but i really want to get better at it and i hope i can enjoy it one day!

Like I mentioned in a similar thread, I'm not fond of it. I hate being in the cramped seats, I don't like sitting next to people I don't know for hours, and usually plane food either tastes terrible or I get food poisoning from it. Plus, there's a pretty high risk of developing DVT when flying, which is the only thing that scares me about it; you can get it without flying and the risk is still slightly up there with other modes of transport and hours of not moving, but my doctor has told me before that plane travel is still the highest risk. So, unless I absolutely need to travel by plane, mostly to visit extended family over in Italy, I prefer other modes of transport.

flying is really cool in concept, although in practice i honestly get super irritated >< sitting in the same spot for hours, stuck in a cramped space, impossible to sleep comfortably, dealing with turbulence, motion sickness, etc etc... i think i honestly enjoyed sitting in the airport more than the flight itself lmaoo. i've only ever flown on two separate occasions though, so maybe i'll learn to enjoy it someday,, :hmm:

I like flying! Sure, it sucks when the ear pain happens, or when the seats are cramped, but it's so beautiful outside and the sensation during liftoff is unlike anything else. It's wierd but fun. I'll be flying twice soon (once next month to see my favorite singer and once in february to go to EUIC) and I'm kinda looking forward to it haha

I hate flying in planes. The seating is uncomfortable and my butt ends up hurting for sitting too long. The seating arrangements is too close to other people and I don't even get enough space, my ears gets clogged from the flight, if you sit in front of a kid the annoying kid will kick the seat, during covid when it was safe to travel again wearing a face mask I got sick on the plane on the way back home, the flight attendants are annoying. Whenever the flight attendants bring a bag for throwing trash I end up not having trash, but when I do have trash the flight attendants don't come to me.

I'm fine with it. I used to travel by planes once in a while because my dad has traveled quite a lot, so I got used to it. Sure, I may get tired of being on a plane for too many hours, and I may have to deal with noisy people, but it can be relaxing. I don't think I've traveled by plane since 2018—and it was a short trip—but I wouldn't mind doing it again.

I am not fond of flying. I flew a few times as a teenager but then went nearly a couple of decades without flying again.

My very first flight when we arrived there was a tornado warning in the area and the plane had to circle for a while until it had passed. When we descended there was a lot of turbulence. My parents and grandparents who were more experienced with flying told me it was really bad. Needless to say, it did not leave a good impression on me.

I got brave in recent years to do it again, such as when I flew to my new state that I moved to. I foresee having to fly back to my home state for a family event next Spring. It's a bit unnerving to me that flying may be more of a thing now that I've moved so far away from family. Oh well.

GOD no. I like the feeling of traveling the world, but the stress of being in an airport and especially being on a plane with the loud take-off and scary turbulence.. definitely not for me. Sadly my norm is flying by plane at least once or twice a year, and I've moved countries a few times now. It gets a bit better, but I am still quite scared when the plane starts shaking :/

I love flying! Ive only flew like... a few times (To and from Florida when I was young and To and From Washington, DC in 8th grade)

I absolutely DESPISE hights (Looking up at tall things or things that are high up as well as being high up) HOWEVER being in an Airplane is an enjoyable experience that I found really fun. I like looking out the window since I guess I'm TOO far up to be scared.

I dunno. Its fun. Its not something that I should enjoy but I do.

I relate to this a lot lol. I hate OPEN heights, like rollercoasters but it’s just more secure in a big jet.

Not really I'm ok with going on a plane as a means to an end to travel somewhere though I don't particularly like heights but I also don't really like the whole experience of having to go through the airport, having to get there hours before the flight, going through security and passport/border checks, checking in and picking up luggage and sitting around waiting for the flight, it just seems like too much hassle and I'd rather travel by other means even if it takes longer.

The views are pretty amazing though, when there's no turbulence and you're looking out of the window at some scenery it can be nice experience, I don't really like flying over the ocean though when there's nothing but water.
