Aside from Ash, Dawn and possibly Tracey, a good portion of the main characters have siblings that we see from time to time. What do you think of them?

Brock - Forrest in particular and the rest of his brothers/sisters
Misty - Daisy/Lily/Violet (Daisy has gotten better spotlight than the others)
May - Max (He's basically become like the other siblings now since he stays at home)
Paul - Reiji

What do you think of them?

Masato and Reiji I'm interested, as Haruka's brother travelled with her, Sato and Takeshi in Hoenn and Kanto, and learned so much from experiences (a shame he wasn't given at least 1 monster during the AG series), and Shinji's brother ventured through Kanto to Shinou regions (Orange Islands known). I'm still feeling a bit awkward about Reiji and Sato's battle, since I expected Sato to lose.

Kasumi and Takeshi's brothers/sisters pretty much act like most brothers/sisters most of us have. Not much is shown from them considering they appeared in such small number of episodes so I can't say much really.

I actually liked Max. He was a good kid. People found him annoying but come on, kids are annoying and he could be a sweetie so yeah. I like Brock's herd of siblings and Forrest. Not much to say about them but I'd like to see more of Forrest. Daisey's okay, but I hate the other two, and I don't know what to think about Reiji just yet.

Yah, the more the merrier! And I really liked Max. (Very much a little Conway if you ask me, also his need to let everyone know who his dad was in early AG was amusing) Of course, there really isn't a main charactor I don't like anyway. I was never that attached to Misty since I started waching consistently in early Hoenn. Her sisters are the kind of people that drive me Ludicolo. :banghead: But that's what makes them okay. Brock's siblings are just sweet, and they make me feel sypathectic. :awww: (My mom comes from a faimly with a similar issue) Dawn would have been better with Lucas as her brother :-/ Ash is fine without siblings, he has Pikachu as a "brother" :embarass: (Or sister) Paul having Reiji is neat, since we have an open link to his past, and plus, Reiji is just cute anyway. :crush:

I actually consider Max a main character, about as important as Tracy, but still a main character. Most people didn't like him because he reminded people of their own little brother or sister, but his know-it-all nerdyness made him such a great character. Hope we can see his journey one day.

Misty's sisters were cool, though their accents were "totally awful!" Forrest is pretty good, and I hope we can see him as the Pewter City Gym Leader one day. Reiji's alright, he looks to be more accomplish as Ash, minus his father's Symbol. Can't wait til he explains why his foolish little brother is such a prick.

I liked Max. He had a certain charm.

Reiji, however, has a Bibarel.

I really enjoyed Max. He filled that irritating-little-know-it-all role to a tee, but there were indeed serious episodes that developed the kid in ways I never expected would come about. And there are actually aspects of Max that make him a genuinely likable character. I think his presence added a new little dynamic to the group that previously lacked it (and probably direly needed it, if only for a change of pace). I still kinda miss it. D:

There's not terribly much to say about Misty's sisters outside of Daisy, who turned out to be pretty cool in HoSo. But if nothing else, the others were at least established as a major source of conflict in Misty's life.

Brock's siblings are okay, I guess, though only Forrest kinda had the personality. The rest kind of functioned like Misty's sisters in the sense that they were the first examples you're given of Brock's motherly nature. There was also conflict in leaving them behind, too, and in that respect, all of Brock's siblings appropriately did their job in enhancing Brock's role.

Reiji, I think we've still got three more episodes to see what he's got to offer us. :D It is very interesting getting to see his accomplishments (which no doubt are playing part into Paul's perfectionist nature when it comes to having the right team). He'll no doubt be very helpful in figuring out WTF is wrong with Paul, and him being a breeder who so far acts nothing like his brother is pretty neat, too.

Max is actually my favorite twerp. 8D I miss him terribly. It's like... between Ash, Brock and Hikari, there's a vacant fourth slot that should be filled by someone younger than them, but that won't happen and it makes me incredibly sad. I hope we'll get to see Max again in a special or something. He should get his Ralts.

I really like Misty and Brock's siblings. Misty's sisters amuse me, especially Daisy. As for the Brocklings, I really have a soft spot for them. They're all just too cute, what with their tendency to pile up on people. I love how they characterized Forrest, too.

Reiji suffers from being a new D/P character. Meaning he's plain and I don't see myself caring for him much. =P But plain is better than "asshole" or "nosy fucker". (He'd really benefit from an Uchiha plot.)

The only siblings I liked were Brock's, no matter how little screentime they had. Max is just an annoying twerp.

And although I don't know Paul's brother yet, he looks way better than Paul.

The only siblings I've really paid attention to are Max and Reiji (that sounds kind of weird, "Max and Reiji").

I didn't care for Max, but I would like to see him come back with a Gallade soon (I'd prefer Gardevoir but I think the writers would go for Gallade).

I like Reiji, so far. I think that there's more to Paul's story than the series has shown us so far.

Yeah, I completely agree with everything you said there, Ralli.

Well, except for the part about Misty's sisters. I actually like all of Misty's sisters, despite them being mean to Misty and everything (most of the time). ^^;

It makes you wonder if we'll find out if Tracey even has siblings or a family to begin with. He's also the only main character where we don't know anything about his parents.

Damn, the writers really did focus on Tracey as little as they possibly could, huh? Poor, poor Tracey. :p

Yeah. I think the writers decided that Tracey wasn't worth developing halfway through Orange Islands or so because he just loses all hope (I actually still like him, but that's just me!) It would be cool to have some Tracey background though!

I keep hearing everyone mention Tracey in all these topics I visit, and I have to ask...

...whose Tracey?
