As in, do you get event Pokemon without trading or hacking?

A lot of people say they do but how many of us really do?

It seems like too much of a hassle, though I want event Pokemon. Going to a toy store, or near one, and getting one..I'd be better if you could just download them somehow.

I go to as many as I can. Some I do more than once, like the gamestop jirachi I got 3 times

I go whenever possible. The only one I haven't gotten so far in the 4th generation from Toys R Us and GameStop, is the movie Arceus.

Ever since Generation IV, where Nintendo was able to distribute more of these creatures easily, yes, I have been going to them ever since Darkrai, whom I believe was the first one I went to. In fact, I am avid hunter of these things and often manage to get a boxload of them within a week timeframe.

Where possible, yes. Conveniently, nowadays almost all events are within my grasp; the only one I recall missing this generation is the JB Hi-Fi Manaphy.

I have at least one of practically every event that's been released in Gen IV; most obtained legitimately from the actual events. While I am in Canada, I'm back and forth across the border often enough that I can usually make my way over around the time of an event. I used a slightly illegitimate method for 1, the VGC09 Milotic... the Wonder card data and Pokemon itself are still entirely legitimate (and the Milotic a unique specimen, not a clone), but I got it via unofficial channels.

I was unable to get a few, though. All three of the TCG-World Championship giveaways (Pikachu in 07, Lucario in 08, and Weaville last year). I got Lucario and Weaville a bit later via a trade, but I never got the Wondercards for any of them registered in my games; and I've never been able to get the '07 Pikachu.

Yes always. But we hadn't too many events around here in Finland. Generation IV and the merge of Pokémon USA and Pokémon UK have gladly changed our situation a lot and we had all Gen IV major events now. And the best change is that events are now spread more around Finland, when those few previous ones have been only distributed in one place in whole country.

Sadly they don't have events here in New Zealand. I highly doubt they ever will either(Too small)

I do the Wi-Fi events that I can but I don't have a TRU anywhere near me and Gamestop events is the priviledge of Americans. Apparently in Canada, they have no clue what you're talking about.

I am interesting to participate but I am collecting money for that purpose. As and when the amount according to price collected I will join

This, really. I've got pretty much every event I know of that has been available in Finland either via Wi-Fi or via GameStop stores for Gen IV bar the Platinum preorder Shaymin. I've got a bunch of other events via trading here, though. And I don't really like hacking, so I don't have any hacked events.

Since I started paying more attention to events I've participated in a few, Starting with the Game Stop Jirachi.

I've gone to all possible events ever since I started playing.

I'd love to go to them, but can't actually find any (I don't know if they run in the UK). As soon as I get Wi-Fi access, I'll be looking into them.

About events; Do they repeat occasionally or are they a one-time 'you miss it, you're screwed' thing?

Ever since Mew at the Millennium Dome in 2000 the only two I have missed were Eon Ticket and Regigigas. The former, due to not knowing about it. The latter, due to all of them being in the north.

Events are fun in the UK annually and they tour the country. Once they're done, they're done.
