He looked like he switched sides in dp 187.
Last episode he was frustrated when Ash kept beating Paul's pokemon, but in dp 187 he was cheering for Ash.

Yes, after seeing how Ash is defeating most of Paul's Pokemon, I don't see why not. Good question, though.

What i want to see is after Ash beats Paul, Barry gets upset that his "hero" was beaten and then chastises him after the battle for losing to Ash especially since Ash admitted to being destroyed in the lake battle beforehand and then have Ash and Paul both make him realise he needs to do his own thing instead of following them around and trying to copy thier styles.

I think he might end up a fan of both Ash and Paul and help get them together

I can see Barry respecting Ash's skills at some point, so, yeah, I see him as an Ash fan.

Friend? Yes.
Fan? No.
Why should Barry be his fan? Just because of one win against Barry's old favourite? They are rivals after all.
How about Baryy becoming a fan of Takuto?

Barry is a gloryhunter, meaning he follows the person who's winning at the time. He'll become a Takuto fan, just watch.

Once Ash beats Paul, Barry will realize that Ash has the better training style.

Actually, Paul has the most effective training technique, its just that he has no connection or emotionla attachment to his Pokemon. Ash's is have faith in your pokemon, which can only get you so far.

As right now I'd say he is already batting for both teams.

Edit: I meant that literally by the way...

Sure. Once Ash beats Paul and Barry realizes that he (Paul) is still an uncaring jerkass, he'll probably lose respect for him and turn to an Ash fan. If Paul actually does change his ways in the end, then I don't know. Maybe he'll become a fan to both.

Nah I don't think he'll be a fanboy all over Ash like he was with Paul.

I can see him saying how Ash is powerful and that he is an admirable rival.
