This discussion started in another thread so I want to ask here instead. Do you think Ash will challenge the Sinnoh Elite 4 in the anime?

This is the first generation where each Elite has had proper build-up and foreshadowing, do you think the writers plan for Ash to challenge them after Sinnoh or is this another plotline that will go absolutely nowhere?

Each time an Elite 4 episode happened Ash was constantly reminded that he could challenge them if he wins the league, do you think this will happen? If not, then why properly introduce them compared to all the previous sagas?

I think there is a big change that he'll battle that fire dude (forgot his name >.<) because of Platinum, but I don't know about the others. The only one he actually fought is Agatha, and that wasn't even in Kanto. And there is no such thing as an actual elite four ready to be battled in the anime, so he won't battle them in the way of the games

I think that it would be good to see something different this time around. With the E4 being the best of the best it would be interesting to see how Ash would fair and if, like the BF, he would use a mixture of his Pokemon.

As far as it actually happening I am not so sure. Logically it would mean that Ash would have to win the League. I am not sure I can see that happening this time around. I do believe that he will get to the final, but am not sure if he will win it. But then again, how long will Pokemon stay around as a TV series? Would they only have him win a league in the last series? Or this time round then do something different for Gen V? As surely once you are a champion you have proved you are a strong trainer with powerful Pokemon. Realistically he would be able to destroy gym leaders...

However if there is no E4 journey then all the foreshadowing is very pointless! Also what would they do for the filler arc? Another BF would be a bit dull, purely as that is how the last saga ended. Another Orange Island type experience would be interesting, but as I said, it would defeat the point of E4 foreshadowing.

Yeah, they planned Satoshi to battle with Elite Four.

But possibly they'll abandon the idea for Battle Frontier.

So, I'm voting for "maybe".

I hope they do. I just want him to actually win a goddamn league.

And if they do, decide to do a Battle Frontier, I want it at least closer to the games, rather than have him go to another region. Not that I want him to go for Frontier Brain position again, but after Hoenn's BF appearing in Kanto, I think it would be unfair if they left those five out, especially Palmer.

I voted for maybe.Im not sure if Ash will challenge E4 this time but it would be nice if he does.

However in order to do that he would have to actually win the Sinnoh tournament and im not so sure about this. For all we know this E4 introducing in Sinnoh could mean absolutely nothing.

Not to mention according to some particular interview pokemon anime is going to continue for many years without Ash going anywhere, and if thats true than there is no chance of him winning tournament or anything.

I voted "maybe". There are many hints but we could be just making ourselfs believe. I`m sure we all want him to finally face the E4 and the champion. I mean they could still send him to another region-he turned down Scot`s offer to e a Frontier brain, didn`t he? It will be awaful if Sinnoh ends just like the other regions before him-we must finally have a prove that Ash is close to the pokemon mastership. IMO the anime is great but I`m sick of the "more of the same" conference thing.

P.S. I wonder is there something bigger thaan the regional conferences. I mean isn`t there some kind of world championship in which you could only praticipate if..I don`t know.. won a conference or be a champion or E4 member?

Not that I want him to go for Frontier Brain position again, but after Hoenn's BF appearing in Kanto, I think it would be unfair if they left those five out, especially Palmer.

Not really. Game characters are left out all the time, like those older Johto and Hoenn Elite's that never appeared in the anime, or Janine, etc.

These 5 new Brains don't have to be featured in the anime at all. By the time DP ends Platinum will be almost 2 years old, it doesn't even make sense to advertise something that old.

There is honestly no real reason to do another Battle Frontier arc, Ash declined the offer to be a Brain once before, what can a second one accomplish besides being a repeat of the same thing?

Definitely. The way things are shaping up, I think it'll be Satoshi and Shinji in the finals with Satoshi winning the whole thing. I don't agree with the people who think he can't win a league, because winning a league is not the same as being a Pokemon Master.

There had been plenty of foreshadowing before, but after the episode with Ryo it seemed painfully obvious to me that Satoshi would face them. With Shirona appearing a few times he might even get to face her, but there's no way he'll beat her. But on the off chance he does beat her, that still doesn't mean his story is over, because winning one region doesn't make you a Pokemon Master in my eyes.

Whether it's the Elite 4, Battle Frontier, or some other filler arc, Satoshi will still go on to the Gen 5 region and start all over again. Whatever decade his story does end, they'll probably come up with some ultimate championship he has to win in order to become a Pokemon Master.

Yes, this entire series is building up to Satoshi vs. Shinji ULTIMATE BATTLE DESU NE followed by Satoshi vs. Shirona. :O

I say yes because of all the hints this saga and he'll likely lose to Cynthia. That's my predication.

What I'd like to ask is if the writers are improving the Elite Four encounters and a possible buildup than from the previous regions, just like how they've improved the female protagist relationship with Ash.

I think he'll win the Pokémon league and challenge the Elite Four, but lose to Cynthia, which prompts his journey to the next region.

I'd like Ash to challenge to Elite 4, but even if he wins, he'll go to another region and either lose, which will be WTF because he was strong enough to beat the Sinnoh Champion but loses to random guys, or he wins, and goes on to another region and does the same thing again? This is why I hate repetition, they'll do this exact same thing with Ash over and over, and I'd like his journey to have a conclusion before I die, but I guess kids don't mind seeing the same crap over and over again.

But if he goes to the BF, there's more things to explore, either a chance for the/a Johto starter(s) to get some redemption or explore the Island that has the Battle Frontier on it, like Stark Mountain and other shenanigans. So I said maybe

he never has before, and we're three regions in.

I actually think theres a good chance this time. Since it could be wrapped up in about 7-10 episodes(Ash wouldn't have to travel to find them) they would have time for both a Battle Frontier arc and and Elite 4 arc. There are 5 Frontier Brains instead of 7 this time so it would be a bit shorter than AG's battle frontier saga.

I personally think it will go like this:
- Ash and co. finally defeat Cyrus and his 3 commanders
- Dawn, Jessie, Kenny, Zoey and Nando win 5 ribbons each
- Ash, Paul, Nando, Allan and Jun win 8 badges each
- Dawn loses to Zoey in the Grand Festival. Nando wins it all.
- Ash defeats Jun and makes it to the final round of the Sinnoh League.
- Ash ties with Paul, both can challange the Elite 4 now
- Paul goes straight to Elite 4 castle
- Ash wants to train more. Jun informs him of the Battle Frontier leaded by his dad, Palmer
- Ash and co. stop Pluto's havoc in Mt Stark. Team Galactic is official gone
- Dawn and her 4 rivals win 5 ribbons each.
- Ash and Jun both manage to earn all 5 symbols
- Dawn wins the Grand Festival and decides to become a member of the Ribbon Society. Leaving the group after one final battle with Ash
- Ash battles Jun before going on to challange the Elite 4. They part ways for the last time
- Ash uses every pokemon he has to beat the Elite 4 and Cynthia
- Ash beats Paul who has become the new champion
- Ash turns down the offer of becoming the Sinnoh Champion and says to truely be the "best" he can't be satisfied with being the champion of just one region. He wants to beat every champion of every region in the world
- The 5th generation begins

How would you guys like that?

Well, seeing how the series have gone, Ash hasn't fought the Elite 4 all together in each region, so I'm guessing he'll just fight some of them......I'm pretty sure he'll fight Cynthia though, and the fire type guy, whatever his name was.
