Do you think Ash's Infernape should learn the move Blast Burn?

Wouldn't it be cool if Ash's Infernape knows the move Blast Burn? Then all of the starters Hyper Beam variation move Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn and Hydro Cannon will be used by a main characters fully evolved forme of Sinnoh's starter pokemon. Also it would show the move Blast Burn in the anime since this move has not been shown yet. :XD2:

Barry's Empoleon knows Hydro Cannon

Paul's Torterra know's Frenzy Plant

On a side note. If Ash's Pikachu learns a new move in Sinnoh, what do you guys think the next move should be? I think it would be cool if it can use offensive and dafensive moves like Hidden Power, Rollout, Mimic, Surf, Protect, Counter, Light Screen, or Reflect as its new move.

if anything, pikachu should learn Signal beam. Over quick attack or something.

That's not how the anime works. In the anime, a Pokémon can learn an indefinite amount of moves. Just look at Pikachu, Charizard or Snorlax. Those all know a crapload of moves.

But if Pikachu had to learn a new move, I'd like it to be one of these:

*Brick Break. It would be really funny for Pikachu to suddenly start punching the everloving crap out of something.
*Magnet Rise. Flying Pikachu! That would be awesome!
*Swift. Pikachu needs some kind of projectile that isn't a bolt of lightning.

Re: Infernape?

^ Recently the writers have been restricting pokemon to only using 4 moves in battle.
It's why you never see Pikachu using Thunder or Agility anymore.
Also no more Swift. Eteboss knew it and so does Hikari's advertisement.

Signal Beam would be perfect.

Re: Infernape?

I think Return would be PERFECT for both Pikachu and Monferno - maybe even Buneary too (and I don't care that it's supposed to learn Return only after evolution)
It could actually be nice if the bunny learns Return and help Pika to learn it too and eventually Monferno get it as well
But I doubt Pika will get any new attacks in this saga
It really looks like they decided to stick with 4 attacks at most similar to the games and instead of new attacks they make these special moves and combinations

We don't know that. We know that these Pokemon have learned a lot of moves, but unless they use like 5+ moves in the same match or return to using some of old, then they could have very well been "forgotten" or "replaced" for all we know.

What we do know, is that lately they've seemingly been restricting Pokes to 4 moves. So it wouldn't really matter either way.

Pikachu already knows like 20 moves it doesn't need more.

I don't see what the harm is. Pikachu learned Iron Tail in Houen and Volt Tackle in the Kanto Battle Frontier. It would be kind of weird if Pikachu went through all of Shin'ou without picking anything up.

Re: Infernape?

It seems I correctly predicted that Ash's Chimchar will evolve into it's final form. (I dreamed this a long ago when Ash did acquire and capture it, and protect him as a Infernape in the future.)

During that time, I bet this may not come true, and when Chimchar evolves into Monferno, I'm started to the fact it may realize a dream I did predict.

If Ash did finally evolve it, my dream come true about it. (Thanks to the anime writers, which they did it, to make it true)

You know... it's really hard to call it a 'prediction' when:

- It could very well not happen at all.
- Everyone else and their brother has been saying/hoping Monferno will evolve.
- You base your assumptions... on dreams :-/

Everything so far has been like the teaser to the preview of the glimpse to the guess to the possibility of an appearance by an Infernape of some kind.

I'm sure we've all seen this and have thought the same thing: Blast Burn's debut will be in the form of Ash's Pokemon learning it. Specifically, Monferno/Infernape. But it remains to be seen if it'll truly go to the monkey or perhaps it will end up as another move in Charizard's long repitore.

As for Pikachu: What could he get at this point? All the common stuff that could potentially be given has been passed up (you have your Double Teams, your Brick Breaks, your Protect, etc. etc.). And we know it'd have to be a speedy move instead of a power one. Not to mention it needs versatility.

I'm quite stumped, really. Someone choose something.

Re: Infernape?

Well since Charizard has been there and training for such a long time, itll always be ashs powerhouse, even if Monferno evolves. But yes itd be cool to see Ash getting an infernape.

I don't see what the harm is. Pikachu learned Iron Tail in Houen and Volt Tackle in the Kanto Battle Frontier. It would be kind of weird if Pikachu went through all of Shin'ou without picking anything up.

The sad thing is before those two new moves, Pikachu basically did the same electric attacks and Quick attack in almost all its Kanto/Johto battles. Thank the gods Pikachu was given a better moveset after that.

I don't even know what Shin'ou is and Pikachu doesn't exactly have the greatest movepool, plus seeing a lot of moves would get annoying if everyone had them, many Pokemon would be hard to defeat.

Re: Infernape?

I don't no why some people think that Ash its not going to have an Infernape on his team when it was seen in the new DP opening, which its most likely an hint that Ash will have a Infernape on his Sinnoh team.

Monferno will most likely evolve into Infernape and it is not going to stay in his middle form stage forever and people have to understand that.

Re: Infernape?

Yes it will likely happen and i am glad. Infernape is one of my personal favourites and its about time Ash got another really strong fire type. Ofcourse i always want Charizard to return but itd be great for Ash to have another strong fire type. Hopefully itll evolve soon.

Re: Infernape?

Has it been absolutely confirmed that this infernape is Ash's? It's likely that it will evolve near the league, but that infernape could be anyone's. I mean, he's about to face Volkner, right? So isn't there a chance for Flint to show up and bring his? IDK...

I suppose it would be fair to give Ash's infernape blast burn, once it does evolve (to keep him and his rivals "on par). But close combat is so much better in my opinion...

Pikachu doesn't really need to learn any more moves. He just needs to start to use thunder a bit more, and rely less on thunderbolt.

Re: Infernape?

My prediction came true. One said on this thread, that predictions not maybe true. I know that Ash's Chimchar will evolve finally to Infernape when Ash captured it.

But at least, now a prediction came true. A dream becomes a reality for me.

Re: Infernape?

People Pikachu learning a new move is just a side topic. What I want to know is if it would be cool to have Ash's Infernape learn the move Blast Burn since the anime has not shown this move yet. Ash's Infernape would have the move Blast Burn the most powerful attack a fire-starter's fully evolved forme could have since Barry's Empoleon the fully evolved water-starter pokemon knows Hydro Cannon and Paul's Torterra the fully evolved grass-starter pokemon knows Frenzy Plant. This would also mean that all the starters fully evolved forme in Sinnoh has each been seen using their most powerful attacks that they could learn. This could somewhat balance the power between Ash's, Barry's and Paul's team respectively too.
