Johto was close to being a sequel to Kanto being it constantly referenced events in the Kanto games, plus you fought the same protagonists. Also in the games you were able to face Red, the protagonist of the Kanto games. I was just curious if anyone else thinks that the BW protagonist will appear in B2W2, and if so do you think it will be the female or male protagonist. In the Johto games you fought the male, but this was because their was no female protagonist for Gen I and the Gen IV were remakes so the female protagonist wouldn't have made sense. Since BW had both the male and female available originally, do you think it would be the female or male to appear, if you believe at all.

Because multiple have brought it up already, and since their is no way to edit polls that I know of:

MAYBE IS ALSO BOTH

Johto was the sequel to Kanto, and in the games you were able to face Red, the protagonist of the Kanto games.

Those were two seperate generations. RBY and GSC cannot be compared to B/W and B2/W2, which are both in Gen V.

Hilbert/Hilda should have a major role in B2/W2's plot, seeing as they were the hero chosen by either Reshiram or Zekrom in B/W. I think it's mostly likely that they will be the new champion of Unova in B2/W2.

If the BW1 hero is in the game, it's probably the other gender that you didn't choose. So the poll options could be better :p

And yes, I think it will appear in BW2, if not as Champion, probably as one of the best trainers in Unova. (Having a legendary Dragon in his/her team.)

They will be the Champion(s) or a Red-like challenge, with Hilbert in Black 2 with Reshiram and Hilda in White 2 with Zekrom, or both in a Double Battle using the dragon of the prequel.

The Johto games take place three years after the Kanto games, and constantly reference back to events in the Kanto games. While not an official sequel the Johto games were the closest, but I will fix that in my post.

@Rare Candy; Didn't really cross my mind, but it seems unlikely, and unfortunately I don't think there's a way to edit polls.

@Pyroclastic Friend; Interesting idea. It wouldn't be surprising.

No "both" option?

The best way to put them in without undermining the player's previous game would be to do a Red-like double battle, or have a character ask if the previous hero was a boy or girl. The other would be a gym leader or another significant position.

Double champion battle would be awesome though.

Yeah, I think they are showing up. Probably the opposite gender than the characther you're playing with. I just hope they keep their mouth shuted like Red in GSC :D. I don't want them to ruin my hero with cheesy lines :D

Still strongly opposed to any cameo and/or major story role. D8; I think it's better if left to imagination what became of H/H.

I would certainly like to see the previous player character make a cameo, and I figure given that it's the first direct sequel since GSC, they'd have to be crazy not to take the chance to show Touya and Touko again. I think asking the player whether the champion was a boy or a girl is the best way to avoid any potential gender conflicts.

I honestly don't really care if they appear or not. I guess it'd be nice, but I won't cry about it if they aren't in the game in some fashion.

surely, dont know how and which one

both champion and Red-style battle are ok for me
even a bigger role in the plot, though it is unlikely

They should appear as the Champions with Alder as the former and now a drifter. Either you pick a boy and the champ is Hilbert and vice versa or, as mentioned above, someone asks if the Champion's a Boy or Girl and you pick like with Latios and Latias back in Emerald.

The only reason I can see for (one of) them to come back is that they have the other dragon, which should be important. Then again, it might not be important, since the version mascot has changed to reflect N's dragon's form of Kyurem, which we have already had confirmed to reappear. I feel like H/H's dragon should still make some sort of appearance, but it may not be necessary. Other than that, I really don't feel like H/H should make any sort of appearance. It wouldn't make sense for them to be the champion, because we've always had a relationship with the champion most of the way through the game, meeting them early on (or being childhood rivals as Blue was), and we most likely wouldn't be able to do that with H/H, unless they were for some reason willing to break their "silent protagonist" role, which wouldn't make any sense.

I think if they really have to make an appearance, they should be Battle Subway battles or something. I wouldn't want them to be a Red battle equivalent, because that would just feel like too much of a copy paste to me, but that's just my opinion!

I believe the BW Protagonists might return but will be given Cheren's treatment. Hillbert/Hilda will be the last gym leader, and he/she will specialize Dragon types so they could use Reshiram/Zekrom.

That would be awesome. Maybe in the tournament thing where you fight gym leaders from other regions.

Well they slowly are breaking it, giving NPC roles to opposite-gender and the dialogue we're given from Pokéwood. I'm not saying H/H talking is a huge possibility, but it's not out of the question.

But anyways, I'm hoping for H/H to have a role in the plot. It would be a rehash if they were some final boss like Red so let's make them plot relevant. And have BOTH of them, if we still have the Battle Subway (or any battle facility) I'd like the other gender H to still be there and I'd like to have both of them have a chance of being the hero. Black and White is kinda about duality after all right?
But they're likely to appear because they have the third piece of dragon (unless they released it) and hopefully, H/H and second region will be kept secret from us till near release date. I also hope we get compared to Hilbert/Hilda, like how H/H were compared to Lucas/Dawn and how Ethan/Lyra were compared to Red (/Leaf?) and Brenday/May.

Sad that the poll has no HELL YES, BOTH WITH MAXIMUM INVOLVEMENT option.

I said maybe (mainly because I want to see them in BW2). I really don't know if they will be in BW2.

My guess is, if they are, they'll be the champions (Hilbert in B2, Hilda in W2 (if that's the case, I'll be getting W2 :crush:)).

Edit: They could also be the Drayden/Iris of BW2.

Personally, we'll have a Red-esque battle with them at the most. I would like it if they played a role in the adventure or story, but I don't think it's gonna happen. The gender of the old hero will probably match the gender of the new protagonist; I imagine GameFreak will assume the player would have chosen the same (correct) gender in both games. I'm not sure if they'll outright ask the player what the gender of the previous hero was.
