Do you think Hilda should have a role in BW?

In past series, Brendan and Lucas were given brief cameos at the beginning of the movies. The writers were also very good about giving every female character from the games some role in the anime.

Marina got the Raikou special and even Lyra got to appear in DP for 5 episodes. The only one completely ignored was Leaf who never got any type of anime appearance.

Do you think Hilda will eventually show up at all? Her character is very popular, so it seems odd to me that the writers just won't show her whatsoever. I think we would see her in a brief 10 second movie cameo.

Do you think Hilda will show up in the anime in any type of role?

If she does appear in the series, I just hope they will give her a better treatment than some of the characters of the day we have seen in Best Wishes!.

I don't personally have any interest in seeing her in the Anime, as quite frankly her non-existant game personality doesn't really give me anything to look forward to. Very much hoping she'll be subject to the 5 second movie cameo and then be done with.

I wish she was Ash's rival & a Formidable trainer with really cool, clam, comperative & collective personality
And Also I wish Ash & her to her a romantic relationship
And Also I wish her to get a great background

I wish we could see BW heroine in the anime... it'd be a shame if she never appears at all or will just get a few seconds cameo in a movie intro =\
She could work as either a member of the cast or a rival...
In my dream cast for BW, she'd be Ash's main rival instead of Trip (Bianca and others could still be there too and even Trip if they wanted) and I'd have her appear a lot and actually be a serious experienced trainer equal (or better) to Ash in power
If not that, then she could work in the group too (which would be Ash, Chili and maybe Iris too) either as the new Coordinator star - or, if there's just no way they'd bring a girl star / Contests back, then she could do musical or something (with musical of course being completely different than the ridiculous... thing, we got to see in the anime so far... though I'm not even sure HOW could they improve it... I can only see musical working if they somehow fused it into Contests, as additional/replacement round to the performance round)

I honestly believe it probably will be a cameo; and you'll be fortunate if it's 10 seconds.

Also, no. Her personality is rather bland in the games, and she has a short role there, when she's not the Player. Though, female rivals in the games have been in that generic effervescent personality vein...
I like how Best Wishes! didn't have the Female player in the games as a main protagonist, actually. I prefer the Anime not sticking by all the paths the Games have lead, if you get me.

No, because I'm shallow and I think she looks like something I scraped off the bottom of my shoe.

Sadly that's probably true...

Her personality is rather bland in the games

I don't get it when people say this... as if May or Dawn had anything to do with their game "personality" (as much as you can call a personality the some limited dialogue they have when you meet them as you play as a boy...)
Not to mention Ash himself is based on the male hero of gen 1 - who was also a "silent hero" who, unlike May/Dawn, didn't even have some dialogue appearing as a rival or something... not even in FRLG where you could play as a girl...
So the "her game personality is boring/doesn't exist" is a VERY ridiculous arguement - seriously... the anime is there EXACTLY for this - to bring to life the games' less developed characters...

and she has a short role there, when she's not the Player.

Actually, they could make something nice of this for the anime... like a three-parter (or more...) with a tournament at the battle subway, a tag tournament with Ash/Hilda forming one team and Iris/Cilan being another team... now that I'm thinking of it, they could do something awesome out of this instead of the not-so-interesting tournament we got with Luke and that...
I guess now that they left Nimbasa and already featured the battle subway, it's unlikely that would happen...
Oh, the Pokémon anime and its so many missed opportunities!

I prefer the Anime not sticking by all the paths the Games have lead, if you get me.

I can't see how using game characters that would appear anyway (as Gym Leaders) in the main cast is any less "sticking to the game" than using the actual game heroes...
If anything, not sticking to the games would be creating anime-only characters like Max and Tracey (which could be nice, but I'd prefer to see game characters that deserve it like Hilda over random made up characters)

They were both efferverscent, just not as blandly as they were in the games.
(Not saying that they were bland in the Anime- I didn't think they were).

Red isn't Ash. Ash may be his Anime counterpart; but they are nothing alike, they are two completely different people, from their design being completely different.
I think most consider Ash's and Red's contrast much larger than May/Dawn's contrast between their Anime and Game selves, and Ash and Red don't even look the same.

Yes, because how the Anime dealt with some Gym Leaders... was very life-giving.

Having a Gym Leader over a Player has its benefits; they are knowledgeable in areas that Ash isn't. They know the ropes already, they can help.
Now it is pleasant having a new trainer and all, but as the same trainer class? May and Dawn weren't trainers- they were co-ordinators. The Anime doesn't seem to be too keen focusing on two companion trainers at the same time- Misty's role was a bit backseated in comparsion to Ash's.
It is less of the route as the Gym Leaders have now a role to develop a friendship with the Protagonist, help out the Protagonist, while learning new things along their travel- something not possible yet in the games.

I'm not sure what you mean by "efferverscent"... but I will say that May and Dawn both were awesome characters with some of the best character development in this show...

Ridiculous. Ash is based on gen 1 hero just like May and Dawn are based on gens 3/4 heroines... =\
Fact remains is that Ash proves how a silent hero can move into the anime and get personality and everything
Fact remains that Brock is nothing like his game self so even a game character that do talk and have story can move into the anime with different personality and story

I thought that at least with DP the Gym Leaders were all awesome in the anime, at least most of them...

Who said the hero/heroine can't know stuff and help too? 0__o

Now it is pleasant having a new trainer and all,

I never said the hero/heroine would have to be a trainer or that they'd be beginners...

To answer the question, no. The writers have already introduced a LOT of recurring characters in BW. The last thing we need them to do is to split the screentime even more by introducing Hilda, or even Hilbert and Cheren, in the series.

I believe that they will best serve the pokemon trainer role near the beginning of the BW films, just as Brendan and Lucas had done in the past.

If forced to a movie appearance, I'd at least like her to be a proper movie character involved in the plot, rather than a few seconds intro cameo...

Okay, I shall make myself more clear, as I know I've gone off my main point completely (that I never quite hit in the first place).
You don't know how they'll shape Hilda to be, they could turn her into a purile brat for all you know. They could leave her the same, or change her for the better or worse, so in order for me to decide on if I want her in the Anime or not, I'll structure my answer on what I know about her from the games- that she has a bland effeverscent (Bubbly, cordial, cheerful) personality.

You can't answer it based on "game personality"... seriously =\
Wether one want or don't want her (or most of game characters, especially the player ones who always either don't have a "personality" at all or just a very limited one) is mostly based on how much you like the character's design... and how you'd think the writers could use the character in the show (as in the examples I gave to how BW heroine could be in the anime)

She's a blank slate with no defining features. Any COTD or recurring new character could fill whatever role they dream up for her. Minus the fandom complaints when their precious player character is "ruined" by whatever they end up having her do.

So then why did people act disappointed when Leaf didn't appear yet were happy to see Lyra? Surely Hilda is no different than them besides appearance.

This brings back memories of the ancient feminism debates in the fandom.

Uh, no. I don't see her fitting anywhere now. Ash already has a few rivals and league competitors already. Plus, with the lack of good rival development going on, it might be a waist of more time money. And Hilbert is not necessary unless he is going to be wearing a different outfit.
