Do you think Nintendo should release Gen 1 and 2 on the DSi?

Well first, is it even possible? It would be nice to see Game Boy titles on the DSi. But that would not be fair to people who don't have a DSi.

It would be possible and it would be awesome.

I remember reading a rumor/theory that they might do that and release Pokemon Stadium on the Wii's Virtual Console.

If they release Pokemon Stadium on the Virtual Console, they should make it compatible with the DSi Virtual Console versions of RBYGSC.

I hope Nintendo doesn't decide not to release Stadium and RBYGSC because they think it might eat into sales of Battle Revolution, HGSS and FRLG. The average consumer will still buy what's on the store shelves and will be less inclined to buy some "N64 game" from their Wii. But people like us - the hardcore Pokemaniacs - would without a doubt buy Stadium, RBYGSC, FRLG and HGSS (I don't think any of us would buy PBR.)

It'd be nice if when you bought FRLG or HGSS, you would get a code you could enter into the DSi Shop and download a free copy of the original Game Boy game.

If possible I would get this, I still have 1000 free points from getting a DSi in the first place.

Not using the DSi to its fullest potential isn't fair to those who bought it, and how is it any more unfair than releasing VC games on the Wii to people who don't own one?

Oh, and I doubt Nintendo is worried about anything eating into FRLG sales considering they no longer make GBA games, or into PBR sales considering how long its been out. The days of worrying about it selling bad is over.

And I realized that even if you have FRLG, you can't play it on the DSi which RBY would be re-released on.
But wouldn't Nintendo want you to buy a $50 Wii game instead of a $10 VC one?
