Title says it all.

And yes, if you're going to hit "No", don't forget: the GS Ball CAN once again be used as a plotline to GET IT BACK if Kurt has found details on it.

ONLY and this is a big if, the GS Ball is given a lot of fanfare and significance in HGSS AND movie 13 doesn't re-feature Celebi with a new Forme. And those are both pretty big ifs.

LOL!!!

Simple answer: NO WAY!!!

The GS Ball is a long dead plot-line that only the long-time fans even remember. The GS Ball was a MacGuffin. It's best to forget it.

I don't think ether, there is still a slim chance it will even return, even for the remakes, slim like 5% IMO. It was only really ever a gimmick relly to get Ash to Johto, nothing more. If it was, it would not have been forgot about. In games it gets you Celebi, but thats in the games.

What's the deal with the GS Ball? As I said "GS Ball," he shook his head and started to laugh, embarrassed. He stated "You're very sharp (for us remembering that, I guess)" and began to explain it contained a Gold and Silver monster. I asked him if Celebi was in the Ball (since you use it to summon Celebi in the Japanese games), and at first he paused, as if he shouldn't say, but then said "Yes." He explained that the writers were originally going to have a whole story about Celebi in the show with Ash and crew, and he made it sound as if the story was more important than the Ball's function of getting Ash to move around (in fact, he only briefly mentioned the latter part; he was emphasizing the existence of the story more than anything). But, they decided to save Celebi for the movie instead, which is why that plot hole was just left there. He said the writers didn't know what to do with the Ball after they made their decision, so they were hoping fans would just forget about it all together when Ash and crew left it with Kurt. My impression of what he was saying was that it was all just poor planning. I asked if we would ever see the GS Ball again, and he said no. I think we can safely say the GS Ball case is closed now.

Yes, but as Zeta said, if the GS ball is featured in the new games, its not unlikely to see it in the anime again.

In DP the writers had Ash take out the Thunderstone that was in his bag for almost 550+ episodes from the Lt. Surge episode, how is that different than the GS ball?

Still they said that it was a plot device that got in the way when the movie came out. Since it was such a big mess they want us to forget about it. You know the way the movies turned out for Sinnoh and the goals of Galactic I'm starting to wonder if this will happen now...

Well yes, as noted in other topics, the problem with the anime now is that the games always feature major Legendary Pokemon as the plot related to the evil gangs. But the movies always feature Legendary Pokemon with the villain as some random collector or criminal. And the anime series features the gangs. The resulting problems should be obvious. If the gangs and the Legendary's plot is supposed to go together, the writers shouldn't keep on trying to separate them. The same is true of any plotline from the games featuring a Legendary that will be scrapped in favor of an "original" story (jerk wants Pokemon or Pokemon rampages due to misunderstanding) for the movies.

It's so irritating people constantly repeat that despite it's completely wrong
Ash decided to go to Johto because he heard GARY went there
Oak told Ash to give the ball to Kurt only AFTER Ash decided to go to Johto too
If anything, that was used to get Ash to Orange, but even that is stupid to say since they could easily make Ash hear about the Orange League or make up many things
They clearly intended to do something with the GS Ball... they didn't intend on using it to get Ash somewhere and that's it

And people take too seriously this ONE interview with ONE person out of TONS working on this show

They'd need to put something more exciting in the GS ball now than Celebi though.

Nobody cares about Celebi anymore, it wouldn't exactly be anything special unless it has a new forme or whatever.

I'm going to laugh hard when people start complaining in 2 years when there is no absolute chance of the gs ball returning and people will be complaining when its clear they want us to forget about it.

Should it? Yeah, it'd be nice. But like Scott said, they may want to do something more exciting than just revealing that a Celebi is in it. I want to learn where the GS Ball originated from in the first place, really.

Also, it would be really really awkward if the twerps do go through Johto again and don't check in on Kurt. ...and if they were to do that, I wonder if Kurt's granddaughter would still be the same age like Brock's siblings, lol.
