Do you think the BF will be handled differently this time?

I believe the Sinnoh Frontier Brains will be handled a lot differently in the anime than the Hoenn ones were.

Meaning I do not believe they will be spread across a region for Ash to do anymore, and instead he'll battle them back to back. Why? Palmer said he is a Sinnoh Frontier Brain, that means Ash would have to backtrack through the entire Sinnoh region just to find and track down each Brain.

Instead, I can see them being treated the way the Battle Frontier is in the games, where they're all in one place and Ash gets to do them back to back. The problem is Sinnoh has been stretched out to the point of absurdity and there's still possible Elite 4 matches to come, so the Frontier Brains seem to be caught in limbo this time. They have no logical place to fit in, since Cynthia is stronger than Palmer, and should be the final climatic battle of DP.

I am not sure how it will be handeled, I was kind of hoping for a Johto BF to be honest, I mean what is Ash going to do it Johto now. Oh well. But I can see your reasoning here on how to do it but I still don't see a solution.

As for the brains having legendary Pokemon I'm not sure how they are going to handle that one though because all the legendary Pokemon are pretty unique and won't be that easy to catch (legendary trios and uber Pokemon are not going to work) so I don't see that happening.

The first question is will they do a Battle Frontier in the first place ? If they do an Elite 4 arc, I doubt it will be just 5 straight battles, I think it's rather gonna be Ash and co travelling around Sinnoh to reach each of the Elite four member before facing Cynthia... To me, the only way Ash is facing the Elite 4 and Cynthia all in row is if they do both
the Elite 4 and the Battle Frontier, i.e. Ash defeats the Elite 4 but loses to Cynthia and goes to the Battle Frontier to regroup and regain his confidence... They've showcased two out of 4 Elite 4 members and shown a whole lot of Cynthia, so an Elite 4 challenge wouldn't surprise me, expecially if we see flint in sunnyshore

The second question is will they do both ? If they do both, I think the elite 4 will be all in a row but the battle frontier will be spread all around Johto with perhaps Ash having a rematch against Cynthia at the Shinto Ruins... If they only do a battle frontier after the league (which should end at the earliest in the beginning of September at the latest in december), they still have to stretch the filler saga until gen V... Gen V. probably won't be out until the end of 2011, so that would make a whole year of Ash staying in the same place to defeat 5 trainers... I don't think so...

So in both ways, no, I don't think the brains will all be in the same place and Scott, I think you're trying a little too hard to find a scenario that doesn't involve going back to Johto... Johto isn't out to get you ;)

Plus, they sorta need to go to another region to have Dawn do contests... I don't want her to suffer from Misty syndrome for a year and do nothing but follow Ash...

Shinto Ruins, Mr. Gible, DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT WE WILL EVEN MANAGE TO SEE THERE? And they can't have a rematch there, those ruins are older than dirt.

Hey ! It's DP anything can happen... I was mostly kidding about the Shinto Ruins...

That can't happen unless they invent anime-only leaders/brains-like characters and spread them over Johto or anime-only region
The Elite Four will be 10 episodes at best and if Ash will battle all the Frontier Brains in a row it'd be 10 eps at best too
I doubt 20 or even 30-40 episodes would be enough to fill the wait from the Sinnoh journey's end until next gen begins
Either they spread the brains over Johto (they can say they moved for some reason, which might also be an explanation that could explain why the BF is in HGSS too) or they do what I said with anime-only characters
They'll have to do -something- to fill in the time and it can't be battling a few trainers in a row on a little island
EDIT: Of course, there's always the possibility of a new game which will be released by then which might give them something to use (like a new BF with new brains in a possible third game to HGSS or whatever they might do)

i agree with gible being that nothing in regards to gen 5 has been released yet the writers will try and strecth gen 4 out as much as they can thus doing a e4 challange and a bf

i dont see why many assume ash will necessarily face the elite four. I mean it is possible, sure, but wouldnt he have to win the entire league before facing the elite four?

Plenty of people have reported the evidence. And when I say 'evidence', I'm using it loosely. It's more like... really good signs that could end up going no where if we get too zealous about 'em.

It's a lot of good faith on our part. Or craziness. One of the two.

A healthy mix of both... Seriously everything points to Ash making it garther in the league than the usual quarterfinals results he's usually getting... Doesn't mean he'll win the whole thing, but the developpement of his pokemon, the fact he's using reserves, the fact that 2 out of 4 members of the E4 have had episodes dedicated to them, that Cynthia has appeared more than all of the previous champions combined...

I'm not saying he'll definitely meet the Elite 4, but for the first time, Ash is getting to the regional league and I can see him winning it...

if the BF is in one place then it would honestly be very very boring. Id prefer if ash had to travel from one city to another for the BF. as far as the elite four is concerned yes there have been alot of signs but if ash beats them and then loses to cynthia, where does it leave ash? If he has to win, he should win it all, and i still dont think ash is strong enough to take down the champion.

That means we still have at least a year before Gen 5. I personally don't mind it since I want to see the BF again.

I can't see how realistically Ash can win the league, which is the only way he can battle E4. Sorry guys, there's even more hints Ash is still not strong enough to win the league than there is for opposite.
As for BF, I don't think we will get second BF. There's many hints for this. After league, Ash IMO either will go to Johto to do anything but BF (and Gyms of course), or we'll get another Anime-exclusive region just like Orange Islands were. And the latter is more likely.
But one thing is sure for me, the sooner Sinnoh will end, the better for us. Seriously, with all these stupid fillers here, Sinnoh is already getting Johto V2 and I am seriously starting to hate it.

Really? Ash getting two fully evolved starters, a dragon Pokemon, and using reserves are hints "against" Ash winning, to you?

doubt it. But I was fine with BF. Except that stupid fisherman line.

"I'm going to be the coolest most relaxed fisherman in the whole world."

Arceus I hate that line.

Using reserves? Where that nonsense came from? Seriously Scott, just because they are in opening don't mean they will be used in league. I will be very surprise if Ash will use any reserve besides Gliscor and even that will surprise me.
And Dragon type means nothing. It's just another type for Ash. I don't understand why so many people make such a big deal out of this. One baby Dragon? Common people, be serious!

So, let me get this straight, Sinnoh probably won't be over until, at the very least, september or october 2010, and gen. V games won't probably be out until november 2011 in Japan... so you want them to spend a year doing anything but gyms, battle frontier or elite 4... so basically a year's worth of filler, but you're complaining that there's too much filler in Sinnoh... You're contradicting yourself here...

Why would the writers go through all the trouble to invent another region with other characters, when they have the five frontier brains, the Sinnoh Elite 4 and champion ?

Plus, Sinnoh is nowhere near as fillericious as Johto... Given the timeline I've illustrated above, it's like 99% sure we're getting either Battle frontier or Elite 4 and there's a chance we'll get both... Anyway, either of them is better than watching Ash do pokemon origami for 9 months...

That is, assuming that Diamond and Pearl's reach doesn't extend so far that a second Battle Frontier arc may seem improbable.
