Do You Think The Dub Is Catching Up Too Quickly?

Back in the first season of Diamond and Pearl, the dub caught up and loads and loads, and got to 99 days between the airings of Episode 52. The same thing is happening now; at the moment, the dub is 114 days away from the original, but with BW040, it'll be 107 days, and with BW041, it'll be 100 days. Do you think the dub will have a month break after the first season so that we fall behind more?

I'm not sure at all what you mean. TPCi wants to promote the show, so they pump out the episodes. They aren't dubbing any faster then 4kids was dubbing, even though 4kids took breaks all the time. The show isn't getting anywhere near close to the Japanese version, the airings will most likely continue in the same vein they have been, especially since there's only one new episode a week. Remember we still haven't gotten the Brock and Dawn specials. Or the Victini Movies.

I think there will be a time when the airing will be taking a break for the next season, meaning the gap will be widened once again. Well, that's what I am guessing.

Thanks for reading.

Well, the powers that be obviously think the UK is catching up too quickly, as instead of getting The Battle According to Lenora today, CITV has gone back to In the Shadow of Zekrom.

If CITV had continued airing 2 episodes a week, it still would have taken us until September to catch up with America...

There could be some gap that will exist in between the seasons, or the next season could simply air the week after.

The dub is not that close with the Japanese version. Not counting the episodes that were skipped, we are 15 episodes behind the Japanese. This equates to roughly 3 to 4 months behind, which is perfectly fine for a dub like this.

As long as we are not less than 10 episodes behind the Japanese, then it is fine. I remember back in Advanced when episodes aired nearly a year internationally after they had aired originally in Japan. We should be grateful that we do not have to wait that long to see those episodes internationally.

Of course, I am only speaking for those who live in America. I have no idea how the dubbed episodes are being handled and distributed in other countries.

Yeah, we're lucky to get them this soon, but any faster, and they won't have time to finish the process. We are in no danger right now.

There's got to be a limit somewhere. The dubbing process itself probably takes long enough that TPCi cannot possibly run out of episodes to dub, if they get to a point where they finish a batch of episodes - the next batch will be ready for dubbing.

What's intriguing is that TPCi still takes orders for 52 episode seasons when it's impossible to dub 52 episodes within a 12 month period, seeing as there are only 47 or so episodes produced within a year. The shortened seasons like season 13 are actually necessary to stop the cycle of 13-month seasons which push subsequent seasons later and later into the year.

Actually, Sinnoh League Victors was short because there wasn't enough of DP left to make an entire season, and they must've still felt it necessary to keep BW separate from it.

EDIT: Besides, if they did have a whole season, it would've ended by BW18, and we had no gap whatsoever past that one.

If they do get too close, then the dub will just air reruns for a while in the middle of the season like what happened with the first season of D&P--of course that was CN's fault for airing 4-5 episodes a week. Though I don't see that happening; they'll probably just take a break after this season like Winstein said.

they been airing the dub like this for a while so no unless they take a big break in Japan
At least they are not 4Kids Dub because it would still be in Sinnoh
