Do you think the fandom was too hard on Iris?

I never really understood the Iris hate. Misty, May, and Dawn were all well-received by fans but it seems as though people did not like Iris as much. I think the most common reason is that people claim that she got lucky and did not earn her accomplishments, but I don't know, what do you think?
