Do you think the other characters have it easy once they leave Ash?

Is it easer?

No Team Rocket to deal with every day?
Seems to me, once your with Ash you have to go through a whole lot LOL.

Interesting question. Unfortunately, it is not an easy one to answer. Yes, we don't have TR to annoy us, but in the case of someone like May, they still have an entourage of rivals to deal with. You call that easy? Misty still has to fight trainers at the Cerulean Gym. Dawn is getting ready to share a similar fate to May. I wouldn't necessarily call it easy.

Not to mention that they can evolve their Pokémon without the "Keep your Pokémon cute and marketable" clause to bog them down.

Brock can finally do what's best and be a Breeder.
He claimed that the reason he tagged along with Ash and his female co-star(s) was because he had to expose himself to the many different types of ways people can communicate with Pokemon.
Dawn, on the other hand, can purely focus on contests.
I don't know about Buneary, though, considering her obsession towards Pikachu... Maybe there will be an episode in the future (after the Sinnoh League) to resolve that subplot.

Well, Team Rocket isn't always a challenge to defeat. Ash and co. usually shrug them off like they're nothing.

Once Dawn/May/Brock leaves, it only gets harder for them. They no longer travel with a group that can help them.

In May and Dawn's case, they also have rivals to face. And with rivals like Harley and Ursula, it'll only get harder for them.

Team Rocket doesn't harass them every day. Mundane stuff happens in between the episodes...

I don't really know. On one hand they doon't have to deal with TR everyday, but they also have to travel alone. I'm also pretty sure that Misty/May miss Ash and Brock and Dawn will soon be the same.

Well, without Ash, surely their coming across legendary Pokémon-related crises and criminal organizations' plots is cut down signifigantly. So it'd probably be more easygoing. :p

Honestly, if I were Misty or Max and was suddenly forced to stay at home after going out on wild, out-of-this-world adventures for an extended period of time, I would be pissed.

Also, no saving the world from angry dragons and vengeful gods. Seems like fun to me.

I forgot about the rivals LOL.
May has a real hard time with Harley the most.
But other than the rivals, no evil teams to deal with or save the world plots LOL. Like the person above me said, Ash tends to attrackt that stuff LOL.

It would be easy without Ash since many characters can accomplish their goals

Let's look at each case.

Misty: is an established gym leader that is accepted by her sisters. Has time to train and evolve her pokemon. Has a Gyarados. And, no TR.

Tracey: assistant pokemon researcher for the pokemon professor, Professor Oak, his idol. Able to spend time studying and sketching, and can visit his friend(s) every week, if he wants to. And, no TR.

May: respected contest trainer in Johto, who is able to refine her contest style, have all her food to herself (and her pokemon) and even is able to actually develop relationships with her rivals. Also, no TR (that we know of).

Max: gets to be a pokemon trainer in his home. No TR.

As you can see, they are better off. With no TR.

^

They got it.

No meeting random people. Being able to do what they want and achieve their goals better. No evil teams bothering them. No bothersome Ash antics. Can train more.

..
Though in the case of Dawn and May now they have to face their rivals on their own and don't have backup encouragement.

For May and Dawn, they don't have friends travelling with them so it might get lonely...also, they don't have Brock's cooking :)

For some yes,for some no.Team Rocket as a whole is not a problem slowing them really down, because they are never some treat to begin with, and their attacks doesnt happen ever day, being more comic relief.

Sure some growed stronger like May for example when she went on her journey becoming better as coordinators, but on other hand her decision of travelling alone has caused that she doesnt have friends to rely on who would help her both in bad and good moments, giving her support when necessary aswell useful tips she could lern by observing other peoples tehnicques etc.SAme applies to DawnMisty etc.

Regarding Misty, well theres not much to say when she was forced to leave in first place, with gym not being adequate place which would allow her to grow as a trainer enough to achieve her goal which is to beome water pokemon master. One of reasons she left gym in first place was to go pursue her goal, with older seasons showing how this dream is connected with travelling, and competing in prestige water competitions like Whirl Cup(where on term of water master has been exploited abit).Writers didnt focused eniough on this, but thats beside the point.
At best gym served her as somekind of "stepping stone" which helped to certain extent, but in order to reach higher levels becoming one of best water trainers worldwide(on E4 basically),gym sadly is nowhere near to be enough and its obvious why.

In Traceys case,it could be said how he was better of,since his dream was always working for proffesor Oak,helpoung him along with doing usual things which pokemon watchers are supposed to do.

Max,eh not so much.He also wanted to stay travelling with Ash exploring new regions and pokemon, learning more about battles by observing Ash and others in high level tournaments and contests while at this point he is basically stuck at gym which cant offer as much as knowleadge like travelling can do.

Not to mention that they can evolve their Pokémon without the "Keep your Pokémon cute and marketable" clause to bog them down.

They can evolve pokemon while being on cast too.

Misty: is an established gym leader that is accepted by her sisters. Has time to train and evolve her pokemon. Has a Gyarados. And, no TR.

In this case though situation is,that Misty became gym leader against her will, later on staying because of sisters incompetence who were not ready to accept their responsibillities, with her goal never being gym leader as it has been evidented several times.
Rehgarding training, she did that during travelling but it happened mostly off screen with only references being provided(its happening off screen now too) and her pokemon evolved too.Speaking of Gyarados, this could have happened while being on cast too.

Not the cute ones. Examples include Misty's Togepi, May's Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Well,Mays Torchic was cute but it evolved,Poliwag was cute too and writers could have resolve Togepi thing in Johto with evolving it,but seeing how Johto did good chunk of mistakes its not surprising why this didnt happened.

Also has anyone noticed, how in Ashs case now in DP his pokemon evolve alot more compared to previous sagas?

For May and Dawn, they don't have friends travelling with them so it might get lonely...also, they don't have Brock's cooking :)
Haruka is traveling with her rivals.

I do think Hikari will accept Kengo's invitation of traveling with him too...
