Do you think The Pokémon Company actually looks at these forums.

I wonder if the people that produce the the Pokémon anime actually take the time to look at all the praise, ideas, and complaints people have had on this forum and other websites relating to the Pokémon anime but also other things like the video games too.

My guess is that they probably don't. :(

Doubtful. I have a feeling that if they want feedback on their game, they go to official gaming sites and take a look at reviews, or hold a poll or something. I don't think they go to fan hubs like this, and maybe it's better that way. Would we all really want their every other action to be based on fanservis? I think not.

Some developers do look at gaming forums (like NeoGAF, for example), but The Pokémon Company? Nah. I don't think they do.

The overwhelming majority of the people who work for The Pokemon Company don't understand English so no, I don't think they do.

I doubt the people who work for The Pokemon Company International do either.

I imagine that if they did, the anime team would do like this image of Satoshi Tajiri and just laugh at us.

What gives you that ridiculous idea?
One thing to begin with, most Japanese don't care about a think outside Japan. Next to that, they hardly know English (because Japan is kind of isolation itself from the world) Then more importantly, stupid people and rants with hilarious ideas are too loud and count-full, in that regard, I can totally understand Tajiri (last post) so actual good ideas would be just missed.

I dont know how much this matters but there exists official Japanese pokemon fanclub; Daisuki club which asks various questions fans of pokemon series. Take in account their feedback, criticism, desires, compliments and wishes of what they would like to see done with characters and story.

Special thanks to Dephender on Sppf for letting me know about this.

However do writers pay attention to western fans and what they want. Do they do research on english pokemon sites like bulbagarden, serebii, pokecommunity etc?

Very, very unlikely. First there exists language barrier being possible that not many of them, or any for that matter among pokemon writers and directors would even understand what we are saying.
Fact how in 2008. when there was conducted interview with ex pokemon director Masamitsu Hidaka needing translatior to help him understand what WPM as english speaker asked only reinforce on this.

But even if some among pokemon staff know English its still highly unlikely they would waste time by looking at online forums, especially when it comes to western audience not mattering to them at all seemingly.

Why i say this? Because some of English fans input would over all this years be took in account by now.

Going by what it can be encountered as often brought up among English, Italian,Spanish, German etc(well based on what i heard from native speakers who visit this sites) sites, some of biggest desires and concerns expressed.

Here are some of things consistently supported and asked about:
-Ash wnning regional league for once revealing more on his poke master careeer making notable step forward,
-more continuity in pokemon series and return of older popular characters. Demand is especially real for continuation of Misty character and story getting some update,
-Team Rocket being more relevant to storyline and having bigger purpose than just for comedy purposes,
Etc, etc.

But as we can see none of this things happen serving as pretty clear and strong indication how even if writers know English language they dont care about pokemon viewers outside of Japan not having desire and motivatiopn to read online forums.

Well at least those which arent Japanese with their viewes being ones who matter most to them.

Although ill admit how having them trying to get themselves closer to wider group of fans internationally, take in account their input , ideas (there exists good ones too), complaints and see how they can improve their quality.
Could be beneficial on gathering bigger audience and loyal customers that way maing their work more appreciated and succesful.

If non-Japanese viewers didn't matter there'd be a darn sight more Japanese cultural references in the anime these days, much as there were in the very first couple of series.

The most loyal fans (This includes those who complain constantly about the anime, because despite their complaints, they're still watching) always think they know better when it comes to how to tell a story. But if you were to sit down and try to collate the views of the audience just on this board alone you'd end up with a contradictory clusterfuck. And then you'd have to ignore about half of the suggestions anyway because the anime is there to support the games and therefore can't have plot progression like, say, Avatar:The Last Airbender

I can just imagine if they did: "Hey, what's with that jerk DracoMan? He's always complaining about everything and acting like he could do a better job. He does have good taste in his choice of favored Pokémon, though. Maybe if we put in more episodes with Charizard, it'll shut him up."

Their focus is getting more and more money. If they were listening to us, Pokemon Company wouldn't maintain that kinda profit.
New region / new game, new series in the anime as an advertisement, new dolls, etc.

If they do look at these forums, it's clear as day, they don't care.
If they don't, it's clear as day, they don't care.
So, I don't care.

They don't care about what fans are doing on Internet forums. It would be pretty amusing if they did browse fansites just for the fun of it.

I doubt it, the company isn't really out to make us happy unless money is involved but that's how this works

I think they only look at official review articles and maybe Twitter if they look at anything outside their target audience samples at all.

Nah I doubt it. They'd look at their official forums if they have them.
