Do you think the psychotic Malamar have a connection with Team Flare?

Back when I saw Lysandre commencing vine attacks in Lumiose City I really felt that the psychotic Malamar were just the beginning.

No but it amuses me how the fact that Xerosic had a Malamar somehow managed to make a lot of fans forget this storyline was a thing.

That episode is harsher in hindsight.

Wasn't the opposite is the case? It reminds them of Calamanero plot, some even thought that Xerosicy was the mastermind behind them,

I don't get why James doesn't have Inkay with him in Alola given their bond.

If Inkay can brainwash people, maybe James could use it to get rid of Jessebelle.

I meant after the Xerosicy episode aired. It's like everyone assumed he had something to do with the Malamar and went "oh, so I guess this will wrap that up". Then we learned he wasn't related to that and everyone just went "oh okay".

In what way?
He leave it with Sakaki-sama?

It doesn't mean that they actually forgot it.

I do feel like this was more forgotten than other dropped storylines/promises such as Pidgeot or the GS Ball. But maybe that's because those events happened a long while ago and were kind of a bigger deal than this, though.

He leave it to Sakaki?
Totally. I think XYZ's closing episodes were really well handled, but if the second Malamar episode had been moved towards the end, with James and Inkay parting ways instead, that would've made more sense. Maybe they could've worked some connection with Xerosic in there too. I don't like how they're just leaving their Pokémon at HQ now, just like how Ash leaves them at Oak's.
