Do you think the Sinnoh Frontier Brains will be featured in the anime?

With the exception of Palmer, none of the other Platinum/HGSS Frontier Brains have been in the show. I get the strong feeling Palmer was only shown because of his relation to Barry.

Do you think the other Frontier Brains will be showcased at all at this point? I think the only way they can be shown is if Ash battles them quickly all right after each other in the same area, rather than having them spread out.

I think it's obvious we won't see them
The only reason we saw Palmer is probably both the relation to Barry and the fact that Palmer is a DP character and not a Platinum character so they probably included him in their initial plan for the plot of the whole DP series (which is also probably the reason the Gym Leaders team weren't changed, the important stuff is probably planned long before they even start to work on these eps)
If Ash battle any group of trainers after the League, it shouldn't be the BF... it should be the Elite Four

Since there's only 5 Brains, it would theoretically only take 5 episodes to showcase them all, but that's only if they did it all back to back, and didn't take the time to introduce the Brains as characters where we know their personalities.

I think it's too late for them. Frontier means bigger story. Something that they won't manage to do. The fifth Generation is mercilessly chasing us. There's too little time to fit the entire Frontier arc before it.

That's why I'm annoyed by the fact that they stretched Sinnoh so extensively. If they omitted all those fillers and merge some non-game related plot episodes into one, they could really make a smooth Sinnoh saga AND put Frontier AND Neo-Johto arces. But because of them, we won't be getting anything serious (other than Sinnoh League) until Gen. V... But on the other hand, Nintendo could have NOT rushed the fuckin' Gen V.

I have no hopes for Sinnoh Frontier Brains to appear. I liked Hoenn ones better anyway. But I'd like to see Hoenn ones as well, for the sake of fairness.

The only game character who has the potential of appearing in DP in the future is Buck.

At this point, and with a new gen being released late this year...

No, I don't think so, except maybe as cameos. But as a full blown BF arc? No. Actually, since Ash already battled Palmer, I'm fine with that. That was an awesome match.

Well insce we know a new Gen V game(s) coming later this year, this does not give us any hint to whats is or isn't going to be in future of the current series. However, what I can guess is that I doubt it. I was thinking we might get a battle tower challange because of Palmer, but Ash has already battled Palmer...Possibly a way to show him because the writers knew of the games coming? (They are bound to know early enough to know how to get the show ready for the next games)

...well, a Sinnoh Battle Frontier arc would give Dawn enough additional screentime to stop the fanboys from complaining that she didn't get nearly as much screentime as Misty or May, and, besides that, they did go to the Hoenn Battle Frontier (even though in the anime it was in Kanto).
*shrugs*

...in conclusion, I think so.

I don't think so, we're almost at episode #170. DP is coming to an end. Most I can see is a rematch with Palmer.

I think so too, because on Serebii's front page, it says:

Marley, another Stat Trainer from the games, is supposed to appear in an episode related to the Oak Letter/Shaymin event.

The other Stat Trainers have appeared in the anime so far, so I don't see why Buck shouldn't appear.

For the Frontier Brains? Not sure.... I think there's too little time between now and Gen V for them to appear. And as far as the Elite 4 is concerned, I KINDA feel the same way... but I'm not ruling it out though. But from what I can remember, Ash hasn't had "big battles" with each Elite 4 member in a row, I just remember them being featured in different episodes.:-/

And on a side note, how is Nintendo "rushing" Gen V? It's been 4 years since Diamond and Pearl came out, it's about freakin' time we move on...

I think this could be from:

D/P not looking like its coming to an end anytime soon and it needed longer to get a proper ending

Some saying that HGSS had potential for a third version as well.

But I do see the 4 years, its probably just timing and the fact HGSS came after Platinum that made it look like everything is being rushed for Gen V.If Platinum had of came last, we would have been more aware that it was probably the last Gen IV game and expected things to wnd down anime ways to make way for a Gen V, but then most predicted 2011-2012 for Gen V based on GF hiring in 2011.

Also for movie 13, its always been that the gang are in the region that the latest move is set and it does not look like this will happen, nothing to show they will be yet.

Also, Gen V just appearing out of the blue like this, combined with the anime not looking like its near finished, making people think some of it may be rushed.

And there's also some people who can't accept the fact that Gen V is being released on the DS instead of it's successor. And people, a third version to HG/SS isn't coming...

...

Anyhoo.... since there's a good possibility of Buck appearing sometime in the anime, do you guys think they could have the Heatran/Charon thing, or could they do something completely different? If they don't end up doing a Battle Frontier or Elite 4 mini-arc, that's the only thing that I can think of happening at the moment...

Well remember, there's still a lot of stuff under the hood yet. It may look fresh to us, but they've been hard at work for a while now on those Generation V games.

4 years? C'mon. It's really not rushed. It's the same thing that always happens. Blame the timing.

Okay, so, Frontier Brains. There's like 5 of those guys, right? Well 4 now, if you discount Palmer. Nah, don't think it's likely. I'm sure the staff will want to finish up their loose ends first. Elite 4, stat trainers, GF, Sinnoh League, all that stuff. If by some chance they feel like the only way to get those characters in the show is by CRAMMING them into quick little filler segments, I say "Don't bother". Good writings with a nice pace beats out trying to fill in all the fan-favorite fellows.

They announced the Gen V in the midst of HGSS marketing. Two TCG sets, the PokeSpe Saga hasn't even started... It's obvious that Masuda didn't care about those games much. But there was still a plenty of time to advertise HGSS, so Gen V IS rushed.

Which goes to show you HGSS should have come out before Platinum, like FR/LG came out before Emerald. Because it was reversed, they didn't bother with it much.

Uh, you'll have to find me a link to that first announcement. And even then, that's all it was until Zorua/Zoroark came along recently -- just an 'announcement'. "We announce that the next set of games are in the works", nothing else.

And the span between the 4th gen. and the 5th gen. is set to be the longest span of time between releases depending on when the 5th generation officially gets a release date.

So, no, there wasn't any rush. Again, it's the timing.

And keep in mind that Japan will have had a year or so to market HGSS, and the same can be said for the rest of the world. I think a year is more than enough time. They didn't do much advertising for DP after a few months past the release.

I definitely don't think we'll get another Battle Frontier arc. I think what we've seen of the brains so far is all we're gonna see, except maybe for a Palmer cameo during the possible Ash vs Barry match in the League.

Am I mad, disappointed, angry ? No, Palmer getting that one battle was enough, especially with Ash nearly beating him... Besides Arcade Star Dhalia, the other brains were meh in the game and I won't miss not seeing them, especially if we get a great Sinnoh League and an Elite 4 arc...

So, no on them appearing.

The thing is the writers have been putting almost every game character in the anime now. Look at all the DP characters that appeared that we thought would be ignored.

We got all the Gym leaders, all the Elite 4 (Bertha is likely to appear before saga ends), all the DP travel companions, (again, Buck is the only one yet to appear), all the Galactic members, Looker, even Wallace debuted who didn't appear last gen, Barry, Palmer, and Lucas got a cameo in the movies.

It seems really weird that after the writers were so careful to feature almost all the new DP characters in the anime, that the BF characters get totally ignored.

Did they run out of time? I doubt that's the reason, as said they could have easily eliminated some of Sinnoh's fillers for a short 5-6 ep BF competition. Wonder why they didn't.

Um, don't ALL the arcs show the main game characters? DP jsut had more.

Wally in RSE was never shown anime, but then again could you call him main character? he was sort of your rival in RSE besides May (but I woun't call either a good rival but thats offtopic) I would have liked to see him in anime...there is an old thread here somewhere on here that has a list of all the main game characters that never appeared in anime.
