Do you think there will be VS Seeker?

I must admit every single Pokemon game that has VS Seeker has increased the roleplay and post game value. Why they took this out of Black/White and X and Y is beyond me. Do you think they will bring it back to Sun and Moon? I sure hope so!

I wouldn't complain if they did decide to implement a way to rematch trainers.

I certainly hope so! I hate the trainer rematch system in ORAS, having to travel around the whole map to find the trainers who want to rematch, it's too much of a drag. With VS Seeker you can just go to a bunch of trainers nearby and rematch them, way more efficient.

The chances seem better than usual due to Hyper Training requiring level 100 Pokemon - so providing people with a way to rematch any trainer seems possible. Though I guess they could just expect people to grind against whatever "league" there is.

the VS seeker might be a bit...harder to implement now that directional grid has been eliminated. I feel like someone like the dex nav will be implemented. for some reason I lost patience in-game in XY because the EF didn't level up for the rematches and I forgot about Battle Chateau so I wound up using level 80 pokes against level 20 pokes lol. ORAS with the amount of trainers wanting to battle, the pathway to level 100 was so much easier.

I hope so, and like Arceus the Dragon said, let it also work in buildings and caves. I abused the poor thing during my Platinum runs, as it helps greatly with grinding and money farming. I don't know why they had to remove it, but I want it back. The ORAS match call was a step in the right direction, but too much of a hassle, as you had to comb the entire region in order to find those who want rematches. At least with the VS Seeker, you could just press it and bada-boom, trainers in the area looking for a rematch will be at your beck and call. However, given the fact that the series has left the dimensional grid, as well as now being in the 3D world, that may be a bit harder to implement. But I would love to have a way to rematch regular trainers without needing to resort to places like Battle Chateau all the time.

I hope not. I found the VS Seeker very tedious and insufficient. I loved the rematches of Hoenn way more! :)

Amen. Why in the world do people like VS Seeker, anyway? The way R/S/E and OR/AS did things was perfect. Why would you want a tedious device that only works in a small radius and then requires recharging, when you can have Trainer's Eyes which can show trainers that can be rebattled regionwide?

What exactly about having to fly across the whole region to fight about 1-2 trainers per route is more practical than choosing whatever route you want and fighting 50-100% of the trainers on there? You also had to wait until you had access to fly, or actually walk back to all the routes, so it was a drag to use during the main game. With VS Seeker you can literally just go to a nearby route, turn it on and poof: trainers want to battle you. I get that the recharging is a pain, I hope they do get rid of that. However, having to walk back to all the routes to battle some trainers takes a whole lot more steps than just recharging the device, so I still prefer it way more.

I could always make everyone re-match me on Route 117 in Hoenn in Emerald. I trained there for ages. The VS Seeker wouldn't have worked in the same way. So it should stay dead and buried.

I have to disagree about favoring rematch calls over the VS. Seeker. Rematch calls are too random and tedious-having to fly all over the place in hopes of battling the few decent trainers who actually hand out sufficient EXP. It is especially annoying when they aren't ready to battle.

The Vs. Seeker has much better odds for battling, and thus getting EXP. I miss it. It's what I used to grind for the Elite Four in Pearl and Platinum. Anyway, I'm not sure if it will come back. But Sun & Moon should have some type of rebattling system present. As long as it's better than ORAS' rematch calls, I'm happy.

I honestly don't know what are people talking about. With the ORAS Trainer's Eye, you don't need to fly all over the region to rematch everyone.

You just need to choose a specific route, with trainers you like, and keep rematching all of them. They are all ready for rematch every 2- 5 minutes. In RSE, it would take hours for them to want a rematch, but in ORAS they fixed it.

All you need to do is keep re- entering the route.

This was also present in Emerald. That's how I trained like mad. I don't know about Ruby and Sapphire though.

It wasn't the same in Emerald. It was waaaay slower in Emerald. In ORAS, they want a rematch in a few minutes. In Emerald, it could take hours for them to want a rematch.

I beg to differ. I could make them rematch me in seconds. So the VS Seeker really was a let-down for me.

I don't hugely favor one method over the other, but personally I do prefer the "go anywhere, activate, BAM you've got rematches" immediacy of the VS Seeker. But really, I think that either is fine. As long as there *is* a rematch feature, I'm not going to complain too much.
