Do you think these DP characters will get a follow-up?

I've been wondering about these characters:

1. Ambipom. I don't expect it to return to Dawn's team, but maybe showing it watch her competing in the Grand festival? Its better than seeing it ignored as if it never happened.

2. Gliscor. If Gliscor doesn't return to Ash's roster, it is the biggest mistake the writers have made in about 10 years since Pidgeot.

3. Charon/Pluto. He was the only Galactic character not arrested, did they just forget?

4. Buck, the only DP traveling companion not in an episode. The problem is Heatran is already getting an ep, so they probably won't go to Stark Mountain.

5. A rematch with Palmer. I do not expect the other Brains to be shown at this point, but I think Ash getting a rematch with Palmer would be nice.

6. Ash challenging the Sinnoh Elite 4. Now that they've all been debuted, will this lead to anything?


Out of these 6 things, how much of this do you see getting a follow-up? I'll admit I'll be disappointed if half of this is ignored by the time DP ends.

Pluto? GS Ball of D/P.

Baku? Anzu of D/P.

Kurotsugu? Maybe.

E4?

Yes and no. Writers might be introducing E4 to foreshadow and E4 arc, or they might be showing E4 as there won't be an E4 arc.

I don't see more than a cameo for Ambipom and Gliscor probably watching the GF and the League on TV respectively.

Pluto won't appear ever again (I mean the Buck helps protect HEatran from Pluto is eerily similar to the Natsuya helps protect Heatran from Red-Eye DP169 episode)

Buck I think will appear either between the 8th gym and the League or as one of the preliminary League opponents

Palmer is cameo bound for the League where he'll watch the Ash v Barry or Paul v Barry match... more than that I don't think so.

Same could be said about Ambipom but nobody really expects it to show up for the GF. The same logic applies here. It's not in the new openning, it doesn't really have a reson to come back (i.e. no real storyline to close that wasn't closed by the time of his release) and there's nothing indicating it'll comeback.

That being said, DP writers have been good with continuity which is why I see it making a cameo watching TV, like Max and May's rivals did during the Wallace Cup. That being said, if it's more, I wouldn't be all that surprised for either Gliscor or Ambipom to appear.

Also, Scott... why are you making threads, asking people opinions if you're lashing out everytime they contradict yours ? I know you want Gliscor to appear and if it does, I'm perfectly ok with it, if it doesn't I'm perfectly ok with that too

There's a french expression that roughly translate as With ifs you could put Paris in a bottle. Right now, we can see that the writers are foreshadowing a Sinnoh League meeting for Ash and Pau, but there's no way to indicate at what point of the competition it'll happen

I've been wondering about these characters:

1. Cameo
2. Cameo or appearance, either way I won't ragedump over the result like Scott because once I'm done bitching, I'm done and I don't bring it up anymore.

5. Cameo, no battle.
6. Still not sure, the appearances could be foreshadowing, or it could be to show off all the Elites in their native region which will become common practice in every region now.

I gather we would have only seen Cynthia and maybe Flint if an E4 arc wasn't going to happen. There would be no real reason for Lucian, Aaron and Bertha to get episodes. Cynthia was involved with Galactic and Flint was too connected to Volkner, but the others could have been easily skipped.

Otherwise it feels like a waste. Sure, seeing them is fine, but if we don't get official matches, what exactly was the point?

Also it gives greater chances for Ash's Kanto and Hoenn teams to come back if an E4 arc happens. As well as more screentime for Infernape and a possible Gabite/Garchomp battle against Cynthia.

And this Heatran-episode doesn't decrease our chances of seeing Stark Mountain-episodes - Heatran never really appeared during the Stark Mountain-event in Platinum.

1. I think Eteboth will get a mere cameo. I'm not too worried if it comes back for the GF or not.

2. Glion on the other hand is different. I would be delighted for it to return and to be used in Satoshi's battle with Shinji. I actually want Shinji to bring up the fact that Glion was trained by someone else.

3. I think Pluto will return for an episode in which he will get arrested.

4. I definetly think that Baku will appear considering that the other stat trainers have. I would love it if he tried to tease Satoshi about his loss to Oba.

2. I do believe Gliscor will come back to compete in the league. If he doesnt then i dont really see why the writers had him learn Giga Impact if he was never gonna be seen again

I think that's right, but it also pretty much confirms they are related... the anime could help to further confirm this

On a more serious note, I do feel that the writers have been following DP rather than Platinum storyline, so I don't expect to see the other Frontier Brains ever or Charon again.

Buck will appear to round up the stat trainers episode, but as I said, I don't see how it'll be linked to either Charon or Heatran (seeing as there's a special about it next week)

Palmer will probably only appear in the League to watch Barry à la Norman

1 AND 2: Most Pokémon after given away never return. Pidgeot's cameo? Any single glimpse of Butterfree? Unfortunately, they faded away and I'm afraid that's Ambipom's and Gliscor¡s fates (especially Ambipom's, since Dawn's time is getting close to its end).

3. Ironically he's the only one who is indeed arrested in the games, but seeing how anime =/= games and the fact that the Galactic plot had its closure already, methinks he'll just fade away too. It he makes a return for a final attempt and then gets busted (like in the games), I'll be very pleased, but I don't have that good expectations anymore.

4. Well, Marley didn't appear at Route 224 in the anime, and there's also Mira whose anime role has nothing to do with what she does in the games, so we might get a good episode focusing on him without involving Heatran/Stark Mountain.

5. He's Barry's father, and Barry's still ongoing, so I do expect Palmer to come back, be it for a full rematch or just to support Ash and Barry at the Pokémon League.

6. It has to happen. Everybody wants that, and I think Ash himself has expressed his interest in challenging them, so yes. It MUST happen.
