Do you use legendaries?

I think this is quite a popular topic. I personally feel that it's kind of unrealistic to use them. They aren't meant to be trained. Plus, it gives the game a better play through when you instrument a team out of ordinary pokemon. Do you use them for campaign? Is that all you use? Put yourself in the shoes of a new trainer and honestly do you see yourself catching a legendary?

When I played through Blue and Crystal, my games of choice for gen I and II, I caught the legendaries, because there weren't very many of them and they were cool. I used the birds and Suicune all the time. But now there are just so MANY legendaries that it's not special anymore. Also, since you get them at such high level, it's not fun to get to raise them from weak pokemon into some awesome killing machine, because they already ARE awesome killing machines. I wish they would stop making so many legendary pokemon each generation, but I realize that that isn't going to happen, since they're so popular and everyone seems to demand a bigger and better 'mon each time. I especially don't like that there are some legendaries like Cresselia that are just sort of there, with no real background. In this day and age, all the legendaries have some sort of epic back story, so for one to not have one is kind of neglectful, I feel.

The closest thing to a legendary I really use is Phione.

In SoulSilver I caught the legends to let them walk behind me because they look so epic :)

No not really it's funner to make my own team out of regular 'mons

If I'm only casually walking around and talking to people then no. But when it comes to competitive battling(I used to go Doubles in Random Matchup) then yes since I'd be missing a lot without my Terrakion. I find using legendary Pokemon more sensible outside the boundaries of role-playing, but alright in competitive battling.

I only use them if I need to (I had to use Mewtwo and Lugia to beat Red in HeartGold) or if I just really like the Pokemon (I use my Reshiram in Black cause it's awesome). I'll probably use Keldeo too. :p

Not too often. I might use one during a playthrough when the thought of having a legendary in my team becomes too awesome to resist, or if one of my other Pokemon hasn't been much use and I want a decent replacement as soon as possible, but the ones I capture rarely have the IVs and Nature I'm satisfied with, so I'm very unlikely to use most of them for competitive battles.

I dont see the problem in using my legendaries. They are in the game, meant to be captured. Once you've captured them, why just let them sit in your PC box? They're meant to be used and I enjoy using my legendaries, I use my shiny Lugia in Soul Silver, it is a great Pokemon and I wouldnt just throw it in a PC box, I want to use it. I love seeing it walk behind me too. Its just for in game.

I use non-uber legendaries, because it'll be an unfair match if you have a Mewtwo or a Dialga in your team. It's the reason why Game Freak needs to make weaker endgame legendaries so they won't be banned in official tournaments. They did it correct with Kyurem, who is not uber-material, so I wish the same for its two new formes.

Its fun to use legendaries! I only use my favorites, though.

For B/W, I included shiny Suicune and shiny Raikou in my teams for Black and White respectively. If I'm going to transfer them over, might as well use them. Better than letting them sit in the PC for all eternity. However, Gen V was the first time I was able to use a legendary Pokemon in the main game, and not just in the post game.

only when its the first time ive played that game (I.e. In Heartgold the first time i use Ho-oh but i dont on the second play through because im familiar with the game so there is no need to use that legendary)

I train them in-game because I feel that legendary Pokemon should be level 100, but they don't really feature in my party. They never really have. Back when I was much younger, in the days of Gen II and the start of Gen III, I would use only the cover Legendary and that's it. Right around the time FrLg came out, I decided it wasn't fair to have a Mewtwo, a Lugia or a Kyogre in my party, so after training them, I boxed them.

Competitively, I only use legendary Pokemon if I'm playing Uber. I don't use any in standard play. Yes, I know I'm limiting myself and my options, but I can't help it, I have deliberately avoided using legendary Pokemon for so long that I don't feel comfortable using them anymore. So no, I don't use things like Terrakion, Celebi or Jirachi in competitive play. Yes, it makes team building a bitch, but I like it that way.

Lets see, I used mewtwo way back in r/b/y, and only ho-oh in hg recently.

I rarely use legendaries ingame, since they are available too late and I already have a team by then. Most legendaries I catch also have a bad nature and thus I feel like saving the catching part for later when I can just RNG it.

Not usually. Sometimes, I'll use non uber legends, though. Like The regis. I love the regis. Regigigas isn't very suited for competitive battling unless you have a pokemon skill swap it or something...

I don't like using them much at all. Since I don't think it's any fun at all to train legendaries. =.=;; Plus I don't like the designs of half of them.

I prefer not to. It feels awkward to shove a high-level late game mon onto my team, and it usually replaces one of my hard-trained normal ones that I've had the whole game.

In-game: no. I have a personal policy that I won't use legendaries, even if some of them are arguably worse than Pokemon found in the wild. Competitive play is a different story...

I have always used at least one or two legendaries in my team depending on the ones available. For example, in Platinum it would usually be Giratina and Mesprit.

I play to win. So I'll use legendaries in-game and competetively if they fit my team.

If using the best Pokemon available makes me a noob, then's I'll carry that title with pride.
