Sure. I like him - even if he has no clear-cut goal anymore, at least he's still worth a laugh. Besides, if Takeshi goes, Gureggu goes with him, and I know I wouldn't want that to happen.

I like how Brock used to be, but he's been not only totally Flanderized, but also made into almost inconsequential support character. While I'd prefer he be restored to his original character, as he is right now I'd like him to leave.

He was bleh in the beginning, and he has only gotten worse. The only good thing about him is his perversion, and that has only gotten less. So, no.

It is interesting that his perversion is exactly why I allways hate him. Honestly, I don't see why such perverted character was introduced in kids anime in the first place.
With this said, my answer for above question is: "Of course no!" If there were any way to return in time back to 1997 and persue writers not to introduce Brock into main cast, be sure I did so. That's how much I hate Brock.
Seriously though, as I wrote in different thread, I don't really see Brock to leave anytime soon, unless Yuuji Ueda decides to quit with Pokémon. And even if he did, I think it's more likely that they recast Takeshi instead of dropping him :-(

I'd love for Brock to stay if the writers would actually use him for something other than his SO INCREDIBLY TIRED "Wow, that female character of the day is hot! Watch as I hit on her and inevitably get dragged away/attacked by Misty/Max/Croagunk!" shtick.

But since I doubt Brock will ever get past that point, he should leave.

You can only drag out the same cast for so long. I still kinda wish only Ash continued each gen, with his travel companions constantly changing.

Would have kept things more fresh.

Well to be fair, he's not necessarily perverted, as it is never implied that he is trying to just sleep with all those women. Actually, I'd say the show provides some evidence that he actually is looking for a lifelong relationship, but simply can't help his attraction to every girl he meets that isn't 10.

He does mention that his current crush, whoever that happens to be, would be perfect for a wife. And I've never seen any evidence that what he's after is, er, you know what.

Hey, I say let 'im stay. :/ Big enough mistake that they got rid of Misty, and I know a lot of people that share this opinion.

That wasn't a mistake at all. This show needs new characters, not sitting through the same ones that have long since gotten stale.

The writers need to wipe the entire slate clean.

The mistake wasn't getting rid of her. The mistake was letting her decay, making her need to leave, as well as replacing her with another fairly shallow character.

The idea of Brock leaving is really an odd one. He was only ever not on the show for one season all of like 9 years ago, but I feel like if he did actually leave there wouldn't be too much of a difference. He's just gotten so stale. It would be really weird without him just being there, but I feel it would be for the better if he left. He doesn't bring anything new. I would miss him, but simply for nostalgic reasons. I feel like the writers could easily come up with a character with a better use.
